Mods, I'm not sure if this appropriate or not. If not, please take it down. Buellers, I got a call Weds. from Surdyke HD in St. Louis. They are an EBR dealer and helped the MCRA bring the demo truck to Gateway for on-track demo rides last year. They've done a diligent job of keeping in touch with me since, so I wasn't surprised that they called. 2014 EBRs for $14,995 did surprise me. I have no connection to Surdyke other than their sponsorship of the MCRA (a racing club I announce for). It sounds like a hell of a deal to me. If I wasn't spending every freakin' dollar on broken race bikes, I'd be all over it. Thought someone here might want to know that such a deal exists. The guy who called me was named Dave. Best wishes, Charles Miller |

. . . . What the heck is "pre-delivery"?? Oh . . .thets before delivery. Actually . . in all seriously . . . .it's called PDI and stands for Pre-Delivery Inspection. There are a number of things the dealer is REQUIRED (you can find certain references in FMVSS and NHTSA regs) to a motor vehicle prior to delivery. Granted these can range from "connect battery and insert key" to "install front forks, handlebars and cabling". I have several cases of PDI manuals here for tube frame Buells and it's a genuine full blown manual. Dealers typically charge (although it's a pretty soft charge) for this and, I assume, that's the "pre-delivery not included" reference . . .i.e. you will be billed the dealer PDI rate in addition to the smoking hot price of the bike (which, by the way is a steal in relation to what you get) The dealer thing is what has kept HD and Buell from, as many have requested, doing "at the factory"delivery. While there have been a couple deliveries in the early days of EBR, you'll most often see (as in the case of Corvette factory delivery and Porsche European delivery) a "phantom dealer" created. But, the procedures still need to be performed. |

Thanks. I didn't realize it was a national deal. Surdyke is clearly jumping on it. Good for them. Wish I could jump on it too. Would love to have a second Buell in the stable. |
