So i totaled my MV Brutale 750. I loved the bike. I hit construction road debris and slid into on coming traffic. There were no signs up just the mess left behind from road construction. I hit a truck head on. Flew over and smacked into a cliff behind the truck. I can not fly. I broke my right arm in three places. It is held together with Ti plates. I had a compound fracture on my left leg. Both lower leg bones broke. Ti rods were used to piece my legs back together. I tore the ligaments in my pelvus. It also broke in three places. I am lucky to be alive. I get out of the hosp 02/10/15. |

Rule Number 1: Don't bump into anything. Sounds like a rotten day. Glad you're alive. Hope the recovery goes smoothly. Hope you're able to get back on the horse by Summer. Hang in there. |

Good golly! You seem to be trying to break Ratbuell's busted parts replaced with Titanium records. I hope you heal well and completely. It'll take some time for sure! Hope you have help at home. |

Owie!!! THAT SUXXXX, buddy. I frickin HAAATTTEE when the local road authorities don't do right and post notices of crap like that- it's hard to determine after the fact, especially in your condition, but, is this anything actionable? Maybe this is negligence on the part of the state, which caused you a LOT of damage, almost your life! I'd talk to a legal eagle FWIW, just to be sure. Good luck and Godspeed to your healing, and getting back in the saddle! |

Yeah, Vern...that's why I did it. Wanted to set a record. Good luck Charles - you've done the hard part, you stayed alive. The rest is just perseverance and sweat! I had my get-off in July of '08. Rode again on Thanksgiving day, back at work full time January 2 '09. It can be done - listen to the docs, go to PT, do your reps, and when it aches and throbs when you walk (and it will), remind yourself that it only aches because you're walking...because you CAN walk. Gets me through every single day. Beats the hell out of the alternative! |

Yeah that's a rough spot you're in there ... Get well, start shopping for a new bike now, and you'll probably find the right one by the time you can ride it! |

That's a very serious wreck. It's going to be a life changing experience with after-effects that will last until your final days. Lots of us have crashed - some worse than you, most not so much. You took a big hit. The important thing is to heal up the best you can and keep a positive attitude. Get back out there with the realization that you aren't as immortal now as you were in your 20's. When we look back on all the things that could have - and probably should have - killed us, it's a sobering reminder of how fragile life is. Be safe out there and Godspeed on your recovery. |

Thanks for the info Firstbuell. I may have to attend. I had a slow speed slide into the ditch late last year due to a chip coat project on Bear Creek they failed to warn anyone about. My dirt track experience saved my butt that day. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Heyzeus. Flying will now be more of an adventure... |
