I'd say that's crazy, but it's crazy to call it crazy... as we are all "a" little crazy. Yeah, another 70 degree day in L.A.; later boys & girls, time to ride! |

Suppose to be the world record. He had it, then lost it to a Swed I think, and then gained it back yesterday. Talked to a machinist fellow yesterday who is a neighbor of Ryan on the bike. He made a special plate to fit in front of the radiator as they had a problem losing wheel spikes that went through the radiator. Also of note, this fellow said he helped modify the rear brake as Ryan has an artificial leg. |

Hmm, that is a record I'd actually be interested in going after been a few years since I did much playing with bikes on ice, but I still do ALOT of wheelies... and at high speed. Fastest has been in the 180 range (had gps, but not sure the EXACT mph the wheel touched back down at. although that obviously wasn't on ice. I have done many 100mph or so passes on ice though, just not solely on the back wheel. |

70 sounds nice for winter, but I found the climate (generalizing CA., so please excuse the outsider) a little chilly when I was out for the races in Laguna Seca last summer. The heat index here in NC when I left was in the neighborhood of 110. So, going to an area where the high was only 68 the entire time I was there, definitely felt COLD. Oh yeah, is was 60° here today and I went for a ride as well... Wisconsinites know how to enjoy every month! Some by moving to different climates, however! I'm betting everyone *Up Nort'* is glad that the ice wheelie event was yesterday and not today... 1313 |
