It's funny how I lived 20 miles away from the place for decades but never went but now it's road trip time. I figure that we'd better do it while the wife and I are still above ground. As I'm trying to jump start myself awake with coffee (and running scales on my Martin) I decided that this fall we'll take a motorcycle trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway and tour the Gibson factory down in Tennessee. It should be fun! |

I was born and raised in Nashvegas, the Gibson factory used to be off Elm Hill Pike in Donelson TN- IIRC it has moved, but I may be wrong. The Frist museum once had a mind-blowing geetar exhibit, curated by none but the most serious/lucky owners in Nashville evaaar. Hate to say it, but that exhibit is probably over, and I missed it too. There was a story about it in the Nashville Scene a while back. I know nothing about guitars. I do know that in the right/left hands, they make magic. I seek that music out, regularly... Holler when you're passing through. |

Steve: Keep us posted on the dates . . . . I'd be all over trying to do a Badweb tour of either of the locations. Court P.S> - I just popped for yet another Gibson just because I HAVE to try to the G-Force and prove to myself that I am wrong about not getting Minetune on the SGs. |

Court, Say it ain't so! Some people like them, others find they don't tune very well, I find they tuned weird manually and suspect parts will be made out of unobtanium a bit down the road and then you'll get to crush them in a vice. Check out this SG for a bit of high tech gadgetry: http://www.dweezilzappaworld.com/posts/1969038-new -album-update I forgot about Gruhn Guitars, he'll be a must visit! |

I received a Marlin 30-30 on "extended loan" from my father-in-law in return for a Martin on "extended loan". |

the mini etunes are neat but gibson ruined the neck. it feels and plays like crap. I have always wanted to go to the Martin factory. A meet up would be awesome. |

Martin's high end guitar room. A dangerous place to be left unsupervised as you never know what you just might HAVE TO BUY next...
Nothing sounded as good as the HD-28V I have now but a J40 might be a welcome addition to the family. |
