The most pertinent information, at this point, is that the more we learn about Obamacare, the worse it seems to get. Today there are a host of new stories of folks loosing coverage and being notified of astronomical (particularly in contrast the the "cut the cost in half" promise made by The White House) cost increases. If you are on Obamacare. . . . you, my friend, are in for the ride of your life. Someone lectured me the other day that this was the fault of the Republicans during the legislative process. If my memory serves, Republicans were actively excluded from the process, cast not a single vote and, in fact, the vote was held with very short notice . . . . our only comfort coming from Ms. Pelosi who assured us we needed to "pass it to know what's in it". We did. Now we do. It's worse horseshit than expected and does lithe/nothing to insure folks. |

Remember that a vote for ANY Democrat is a vote for Harry Reid and Obola. Never forget that the Democrats did this to YOU. Have fun with your reduced services and higher deductibles. My company just sent out the letter telling us to prepare to get the letter telling you that you are getting screwed for your health insurance. (We are a big mature bureaucracy, so we *rock* at this kind of careful, thoughtful, and thorough "notification of being shafted" process). It sounds like we will be going from good full coverage, to a medical savings account coupled with a very high deductible plan. Which by and large would be fine with me, but I'm sure my out of pocket expenses at the end of it will be much higher. And given our old plans were pretty top of the line, I expect they will now cover less things now also (though you can bet every service near and dear to a liberal democrat's naive little heart will be not only reimbursed, but they will probably pay me to use it). |

What's the absolute best way to please and encourage a troll? Lose the vitriol. It's unbecoming. Did I miss something? The news article was a negative for Obamacare. Like Bill said, it exposes the bankruptcy of honor and integrity of the moocher class who've been taught that they are entitled to the labors of others. Covetousness. |

No real surprise here. Hiding the new health insurance prices until just after the election. If there were good news here you could be sure pricing would be available before the election. Obamacare website won’t reveal insurance costs for 2015 until after election |

Well, well, well: "Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” says the MIT economist who helped write Obamacare. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.” http://dailysignal.com/2014/11/09/caught-camera-ob amacare-architect-admits-deceiving-americans-pass- law/} |

Agreed on low information voters but more concerning to me is that almost 50% of the populations gets some form of government assistance. Those voters have proven the only thing they care about when voting is protecting that government assistance no matter the long term implications. |

This is what I posted on Facebook about that video...
quote: Another cautiously apolitical political post on the ACA (Obamacare). Please be respectful of my friends on both sides of the issue if you respond to this post. I have good friends that are both liberal and conservative, and I love, value and respect them all. What I want for us all is honesty and transparency in trying to solve the really hard problems we have to solve as a country. If we have a fair and honest debate that gives everyone on both sides fairly precise and accurate understandings of each others concerns, and then make our decisions, that is how we can do better. Many problems can't be solved, they just have to be managed as well as possible. As I have said before, I think the old health care system was deeply flawed. I also think the new system was a very expensive path to a different deeply flawed system. Is it better or worse? I don't know, and don't really care, because both were so bad. We just picked a different set of winners and losers (this time at the point of a gun). The ACA was sold as one thing, but it is really another, and the people selling it knew it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G790p0LcgbI I actually don't blame Gruber here, he was absolutely right in his comments. I do blame the media for wanting something so bad that they were willing to suspend responsible reporting (and apparently their belief in fundamental math) to get it. I also blame the Commander in Chief who lies to my face claiming transparency and accountability while playing politics. I don't blame him for playing politics, that's necessary, I blame him for being so willing and eager to repeatedly lie to us as a country about that fact. I also blame the supreme court for not holding the party in power accountable... they should have said "you told the American people this was not a tax, yet the only way it passes constitutional muster is if this is a tax, so we will take you at your word and declare it unconstitutional. Declare it a tax and bring it back if you want it."

Mr. Beu and I disagree on the efficacy of a large government program... he seems to believe that it can be done, but it was screwed up this time. I believe it can't be done, and it will be screwed up every time. But he is approaching the problem with thoughtfulness and intellectual honesty, and bringing forward objective measures of success and rigorous execution. This kind of approach and dialog is how we can do better as a country. A pragmatic left and pragmatic right could probably work together to run a pretty good government. Fiscal responsibility and constitutional integrity should be the constraints we are all forced to operate within, even though we will often differ on conservative versus liberal approaches to the party. |

The writer states: "We resent Republicans who act morally superior and pretend to have a monopoly on patriotism, but an elitist attitude doesn’t look any better on us when we refuse to admit that ObamaCare is broken beyond repair. Measurable outcomes and actual effectiveness are the honest indicators of a successful program, not good intentions or high hopes." Dang it man you missed a few points in that last paragraph that is really sugar coating what the Dems did, like lying to the American people to get your way for one. Nancy Pelosi must have thought she was opening a Christmas present "Open it and lets find out what is there!" ACA affected me little...so far, in a good way my idiot son is on my health insurance till he reaches 26, but when he finally gets to where he becomes "of age" he will suddenly become less of an idiot! I have a friend that has been with a company for 25 years, he is loosing his job January 1 when the company looses it's contract, he is slightly upside down on his mortgage, has health problems, and his insurance went from a really good program to one where he is really paying for it now! The market looks bleat for him, I have told him to leave everything and move West, Michigan is too cold for an old person like him (or me) |

Got my new policy pricing options from Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas: Cheapest option with 20% higher deductible and max annual out of pocket costs 20% more, is HMO, not PPO, so I have less freedom in choosing my care provider(s), and it includes coverage I don't want like psychological among others. This after already rolling in extra coverage I didn't want over the previous two years which caused my rate to increase over 50%. For a plan equivalent in freedom and deductible and max out of pocket, my cost doubles. Gee, I wonder why Obama dictated that the individual mandate be delayed? :/ I'll be switching insurers. |

It continues to amaze me that the masses tolerate this. If your teenage child attempted to lay such ridiculous logic on you . . . you'd ground them. "are there going to be drugs at the party you are going to tonight?" . . . . ."I'll just have to see when I get there". Sometimes . . .collectively . . our inaction and apparent complacency makes us appear un-bright. We are better people, we are smarter people and the rich, the poor, the more fortunate and the less fortunate are all, I am convinced, good people with good hearts. But our leaders, ill motivated and appearing to not, perhaps, had our best interests at hand. It's really a shameful situation. This "executive action" the other day was the height of abuse for our system of government and our collective spirit. I'm embarrassed . . .but hopeful we, collectively, will pull our heads out of our asses. |
