I've long had a reputation for picking out and watching weird movies- I kinda seek them out, especially if they're sci-fi. My GF prefers that I watch these when she's out of town, and she went away for a couple of days this past week. Got to watch "Snowpiercer" (OK, kinda lame) and "Under The Skin"...
I'd read several good reviews of this movie, but was completely unprepared to see some seriously good, FAST, wet road riding on several different late model sportbikes! This becomes part of the "storyline" if I can call it that...
At any rate, I thoroughly enjoyed the flick all by my lonesome. At many different points in the film, I got my pulse running a bit faster, as the camera really did a good job of capturing the feel of riding at that pace- I'd NEVER have the balls to ride at that pace in the rain- but of course I'm no Jeremy McWilliams!
Yeppers- I suspected early on that they had cast some former racers, and sure enough, J Mac is listed in the credits!
Overall, this IS a weird/creepy/well done sci-fi thriller, with GREAT cinematography and sound editing- I even picked out and confirmed I was hearing a Yamaha crossplane motor, apparently that's what Jeremy was riding.
Oh, and Scarlet is now one of my fave actresses, besides being HAWWTT... got to see her in a sweet comedic role last nite in "Chef" amongst a great ensemble cast. She was blessed with great beauty by birth, but the girl has SERIOUS talent, no matter the role.
I'd like to know if anyone out there has the backstory of how the riding sequences got done, plus how McWilliams got recruited for the role... wonder if any MC publications covered any of this?
They were doing some serious boogying on wet roads, at night...
There's a plaque hanging at a local shop, with an expansion pipe that is smashed flat on one side and heavily scraped up on that flat side. I forget who it's dedicated to, but it was given for "the fastest 3/4 qualifying lap at Daytona in the rain... Based on the length of the slide.
