What do you think of this tablet? My boss is buying me one of my choice, and with minimal research, this is what I came up with. Our new dispatch software is based on Internet Exploder, so none of my current tablets work. I can spend no more than $1400 for the tablet, so is this about the best I can do? |

The SP3 is freaking awesome, it is on my wishlist (I have a first gen Surface RT). Be advised they are still working out the kinks with the i7 models overheating, and from what I heard some SP3 models have wifi issues, I'll see if they got that fixed yet. Also the tablet does not come with a keyboard/cover, so don't forget to budget that in if needed. If possible, I recommend buying it from a Microsoft Store and getting the Microsoft protection plan, well worth the coin should you have a misshap. Does it have to be a tablet? Like Hoot mentioned, the Yoga 2 Pro is a good choice and is convertible. At my work we are deploying Dell XPS 12 convertibles, our staff loves them. Convertibles are a bit bigger and heavier, but give you more options to choose from especially if you know you are going to be using the keyboard more often than not. BestBuy has a wide selection of tablets, convertibles, and ultrabooks if you want to try a few before committing. I really like the Surface Pro 3, it is in my opinion the nicest tablet you can get. |

The yoga is very tablet-like. Power on to desktop is like three seconds. It really is amazing. I bought one for my daughter for college. Even if you spring for the i7 and extra ram, it's still only 1300. And the screen is larger than the surface offering. Check out several options and compare features. I did, and went with the yoga. That was a year ago though, which is an eternity in computer time. |

After looking at the SP3 and the Y2P, I think I'm still leaning toward the SP3. The new software we're using really lends itself to a touchscreen interface. I drag jobs onto drivers and it appears on their phone's app instantly. I will be letting everybody know how well it does or does not work. |

A touch screen, it is. A tablet, it is not. |

Maybe... or maybe not. Bossman just told me I get a $10000 per year budget to go back to school, start whenever I want. |

I've no idea about this, does $10,000 get you much these days as a mature student? |

Grumps, it depends on where you go to school, but it about $3k a semester plus fees, books, etc at the state schools in New York. You will burn through that $10k quite a bit faster a private school. http://www.albany.edu/undergraduate_bulletin/costs .html |

I'll most likely be doing all my classes online. I work 60+ hours a week, so I don't have many options for going to a physical school. |

Private school? $10k won't get you a third of the way through the first semester... College is stupid expensive now, it's all gone terribly wrong. |

Yes, but it creates wave after wave of debt slaves, too busy and stressed out working down their debt to think about politics and the real problems. They they get married, buy houses, and the debt piles on... |
