No, I think it is a huge mistake, they go from being a pretty important, if under appreciated at times, memeber of one the worlds top countries to being Panama.
As Milton said better to rule in hell than serve in paradise.
Being free from that bunch of nutters in Parliament would be worth it.
LIVE FREE OR DIE ! Now when can we do the same to our bunch of Nutters We tease Rocket about sheep But the crazies in DC would be all over them if they could keep them in Dc
Every one starts some where Give them time Freedom isn't free its born of hardwork and a drive to succeed! Being free of the Uk NHS is reason for civil war alone! worthless heathen bastards that came up with the Liverpool protocol and have to be trained to feed and give patients water.

I vote yes just to annoy someone I won't name.
While there are good reasons to remain part of a larger more powerful polity there is also centuries of resentment over very nasty oppression in Scotland's past.
Honesty compels me to say I like the formerly forbidden pipes.

Kenm, no, I lack any talent with woodwinds.
I'm not a closet anything. I lack musical talent....almost completely. It's obvious. ( my lack of sartorial taste and interior decorating talent speaks for itself...... I'm kind of surprised I know the word "sartorial", I must have read it somewhere )
I never even mastered circular breathing with my Didgeridoo. ( the perfect instrument for torturing teens with hang overs )
The Scots used to play the forbidden bagpipes out on the moors and get the Brits to chase them through the swampy bits.
Watch the Droit du seigneur bit from "Braveheart" or for a better movie "Rob Roy".

Lol. You must be forgetting there's a lot of Scottish MP's in Parliament currently. Indeed, Gordon Brown was PM before Cameron, and still would be if that chicken shit lying two faced twat Nick Clegg had have given the Liberal votes to Labour and not the Tories.
As for Scotland. Having a respected opinion is one thing, but we'll perhaps never know what's best no matter which way it goes.
As far as I'm concerned, my mate summed it up best a couple of weeks ago. He said if they get it let 'em have it. I doubt it'll make Scotland more attractive in the pocket whichever way the vote goes. Why people fall for this old chestnut, believing they'll somehow be financially better off, I'll never understand. The 'man' will always get the shaft no matter who's running the show.
Optimal might be the institution in the UK of state's rights like we used to have here in America before they were trampled by corruption of the commerce clause. Best of both worlds.
It's much desirable to deal which corruption on a more local level. When "the man" lives and works in your own neighborhood he's much less likely to get away with serious corruption—see for contrast the U.S. IRS, DOJ (ICE, BATFE, ), EPA, etc, etc.—and it doesn't get imposed upon the entire nation. The beauty of separate state governments is that we can see which work best. Though that hasn't helped in some cases, people do end up voting with their feet. See California and New York versus Texas for instance. People always flee oppression and are attracted to liberty. Even the leftists, but they're too blind to see truth, and so immediately commence trying to impose the same oppressive leftist ideology in their new home. See Austin, Texas, and Denver, Colorado for instance.
I'm ignorant of issues concerning Scotland and the UK other than what Mel Gibson, and Liam Neeson (sp?) have portrayed, well and the story about taking back that Scottish throne stone, forgive my poor recall of its proper name.
Past history of wrongs, if since corrected, ought not dictate the decision. None are innocent. Forgive and move on. Same is true for the slavery issue in America.
I know but they will not be able to afford them and Socialism there will die quicker than it normally would.
Scottish independence is like the teenager finally being forced to grow up!
Nothing brings maturity faster than financial responsibility. Time to meet the cold cruel world ! A limited government will be forced on them by a limited budget!
They'll likely get the vast majority of North Sea oil.
Oil, tourism, whisky, fishing, likely their four big earners.
Oil is difficult to asses, not knowing who to believe. I can't quote barrel numbers off the top of my head, though it's suggested by some there's 40 years still in the North Sea. It doesn't stop there though. The field off the north west is reckoned to be larger than that of the North Sea, and has yet to be tapped into.
One thing's for sure. Without the oil they'd be screwed and I'd doubt they'd be fighting for their independence.
