That's because you took an emotional stance to Ferris pointing out the fact that GB doesn't even have a carrier. I'm glad we have it all straightened out now. No carrier for you! Lol. No you've got it arse about face again. See, I don't believe Britain needs a carrier. My emotional side would say Britain does And that's exactly what your emotional side did to you. You jumped in claiming GB had a carrier. Thanks for making that clear. The Eurofighter is not aircraft carrier capable. Which if true would support Britain having little need for carriers. That is some twisted logic right there! |

GB is banking on the F-35 for their carrier fleet which as Asquire pointed out might be scrapped. Wouldn't that be a hoot !! GB wouldn't have any planes to put on their shiny new carrier....lmao |

It's not really funny. No matter how much I ".................lots of crap.................... " about our Feckless Leader and Rocket's viewpoint... GB is our best and longest ally. We haven't been at war with each other for nearly 200 years... that's a record. Brit troops are the best trained and equipped, and the most experienced, pretty much on Earth. For Quality they stand with the very few. ( and I include US in that ) Don't dis them, they are the good guys. The Powers that Be in England decided they didn't want a Supercarrier because they are damned expensive and may be obsolete soon. They may be right, but I remember in 1957 they issued a "white paper" that decided that everything in the air in the future was going to be missiles, so they canceled some of the best airplanes in the world and trashed their airplane industry into dust. It's pretty small to this day, ( but they do excellent work... Harrier, Remember? That came from Tommy Sopwith's company if you like trivia.) In a world where we have drones, the Russian doctrine for sea control is based on saturation missile strikes, ( and the F-14 fleet defense plane is gone ) the Chinese have IRBM nuclear carrier killers, and every Jihadist on the planet can get a speedboat, ( or hijack an airliner ) Carriers may soon be obsolete. Time will tell. The lack of mobile airpower, both carriers and enough tankers is a handicap for England as she faces the 21st century. As I have said... Don't dis the Brits. Rocket may believe some really wrong things, and this season of Dr. Who is iffy, but they are still the good guys. |

And that's exactly what your emotional side did to you. You jumped in claiming GB had a carrier. Thanks for making that clear. If you really must play silly games. You're convincing no one but yourself. Britain not having a carrier is currently big news over here and has been for awhile. Hence the about turn of the government to start up the build again, and announce a second carrier. Rocket in England |

This is the wrong place to discuss the F-35 controversy but IMHO there are some serious flaws in the whole idea. Carrier birds need heavy landing gear, and more range. Ground attack birds don't need Warp 6 speed, they need loiter time and be able to carry enough. You can't dogfight your way to target and still carry bombs, and..... Trying to make One Size Fits All has never worked. We have taken Carrier birds and made them excellent Air Force planes, but the other way around hasn't worked since the Brits used Spitfires. ( and they still used US Naval planes too ) |

Regardless of your views and if you agree or disagree with obama . . he's about the dumbest SOB to ever set foot in The White House and, as he's proven, is totally clueless and confused about foreign policy. You can pretty much lie your way out of domestic crap where you can, right or wrong, issue executive orders. The world is less forgiving of an idiot. The impunity with which other countries make a fool of thus fellow is amusing and alarming. I would not diss the American military. Though the feeling I sometimes get here is it's open season to criticise the Brit's. Be that me, everybody, the administration, and our military. Do I get sick of it when I hear how America saved us Brit's, and still does. Yes of course I do. No matter how much ones steers away from the patriot inside, we can't help but feel the wound when someone takes a pop at 'our' bike racer. Our bikes. Lucas (lol). Our rock star. Our soldiers. Our country. You get the picture. But what gets me most of all is being told 'we' are ungrateful. Some might not like what I contribute. They find it reason enough to imagine I speak for all my fellow countrymen as if it's a common thought running through my nation. I understand it can be thus, as stuff is reported in the media, and makes it look like there is a commonality of opinion, and in this our American cousins are on the receiving end from us. Let me tell you, this is not really how it is par se. The bigger picture is America is a massively respected nation in this land, which could do to be well remembered in this topic sometimes. Enough to show a common courtesy in return at the very least. I have no gripe with America outside of some of the politics. Why would I? It's a marvelous country full of amazing people. I know, I've visited three times. Have I been elsewhere and found I like the country and its people. Well yes I have. Moscow! I've worked alongside the odd Russian or two. I have close friends who are Russian and now full time British citizens. They're a lovely race of people. Pakistan is a stunningly beautiful country. They too are great people. You have to be there sometimes to know this. To add to all that. As much as Patrick and I go at it tooth and nail, I never get the impression he's not my friend. Unlike some here who are just plain nasty. I can't tell you how many times I've adjusted my posts before hitting the upload button! Had I not, I'm sure I'd be on my 17th BadWeB ban! Alfau.... assuming sarcasm And some truth to that... Yes. I will note that the people who export the "tyranny" From the US have a close-to-same ideology to the Fascists that ran Germany & Italy, the Soviets that slaughtered millions in Ukraine alone and the Maoists that hold the world record for murdering their own people... and still do. Since that group of Authoritarian, Big State, collectivist, central Authority have gone by many names in the past, and because these folk are trained liars, all of the old names are now taboo... Let me put it this way, calling someone a Nazi now means you lose the Argument. No one is like Hitler, ( actually many are... few get the power ) so "you both exaggerate and diminish the victim of Hitler". Call someone a Commie and you are a reactionary fool. This has taken years to take place, but it's part of the language now... So let's call the Obamas, Putins, Kims and Stalins of the planet something else... and I'll let you guys come up with it... For this rant... "Jerks". Personally I'm not of that clan, and the other people in the US are the reason the Jerks want to take our guns. Jerks are a minority in any society, and have a hunger for power and an attitude of superiority worthy of a Prussian Prince. They are not, usually, of the Old Aristocracies, but embrace a set of lies that become religion to them... and the scrip for that ( available in ANY BOOK STORE or free ONLINE ) is a fiendishly seductive siren call... And of course it is being a man made collection of all the tricks that worked to manipulate people from the past. The short form is power through envy, power through hate, and lie to the suckers to get power. Oh, and lie about what or why or how the above.... gotta keep them dumb and buying the lies. So, yeah. Sorry about our Jerks messing with people and wish you all the luck with yours. Several other countries have Jerks in charge, and you can pretty much tell who by who's threatening nuclear war... The Other major problem on the planet is the Theocrat fascists, and one group is on the rise a bit south of Ukraine, but is of course being supported by Jerks. Comments? |

And who was it that was labeling everyone here closed minded bigots? Throughout this entire topic there's a consistent need for you to belittle others for comments you disagree with. You always seem to favour this devils advocate approach, but it won't exploit weaknesses of others in your favour when it's clear you use this method to provoke argument. Accordingly, calling someone a closed minded bigot is not nasty when it appears to be the truth. A matter of opinion of course Rocket in England |

Rocket, you rationalize calling me a closed minded bigot, but you have put that label on everyone who wont embrace the crap you post, even when you claim to not believe that crap yourself. I see only a single person in this thread doing this, and yes, I have pointed it out. To add a little levity I just checked back. After fifteen pages of insults. My country slated. Being called an American hater. A Putin lover. Anti semitic, and a host of other wonderful things, I don't think I did so bad holding out so long before you got this retort. Rocket: With respect, you're out of your depth and sound like a proper nob. People with opinions like yours are exactly the reason people like me from countries far away from yours find American's isolationist, cut off, and gung fecking ho. Good for you I exist here. You'd do well to listen and learn. Perhaps then you'd be a much better statesman for your country than the bigot you sound like. But you could hardly blame me when this fell on deaf ears after seven pages. Rocket: "For my efforts, as I knew anyway, I would lose friends, lose respect, and be insulted, as would my country" March 9th, seven pages into this topic. That would be seven pages containing all insults mentioned, which have continued on an almost daily basis no matter. Do I bitch like a pussy? So you're getting of lightly compared to the absolute barrage of shit I've had thrown my way fella. Rocket in England |

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/david-haines- beheading-recap-updates-4256832 Rocket you were explaining to me how it could be patriotic to go to a foreign land to kill your own countrymen? http://www.nationalreview.com/article/387188/forei gn-legion-losers-jonah-goldberg Or how it could be a religious imperative to go buy sex slaves.? Recently the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) posted transcripts from Facebook and Twitter conversations among various French and British supporters of the Islamic State. They enthusiastically chatted about the exciting news that you can buy slave women in areas controlled by the Islamic State. The terrorist group reportedly captured an unknown number of women from the ethnic minority called Yazidis. They aren’t Muslims, so they can be used as chattel. The men in the discussions asked all sorts of questions about the rules for sexually abusing (i.e., raping) the women. One British Muslim asked, “I have 3,500 dollars to spare, I am going to buy ten, who wants one?” A French man joked that 180 dollars must be the “price for the ugly ones.” There were plenty of “LOLs” in the thread. Because, you know, collecting the female survivors of mass murder and raping them is just so Laugh-Out-Loud funny to cretins who can bed women only at sword-point. Many of the Westerners flocking to Syria and Iraq for “jihad tourism” don’t have any of the usual excuses one hears for terrorism. Just like the 9/11 hijackers, they are often middle-class, educated, and technologically adept. What they are not is assimilated. They may have passports identifying them as American, French, or British, but they are not American, French, or British in their hearts. These labels do not give them the meaning and mission in life they crave. And Western democratic capitalism bores them. Often the children of immigrants, they are literally misfits; they don’t fit in with their parents’ native culture, but they also haven’t connected to the society in which they now live. And that is nothing new. The French intellectual Olivier Roy observed over a decade ago that many of the violent Islamists in Europe were in fact “born-again Muslims” who adopted Islam not so much as a sincere religious conversion but as a radical pose against the West. In previous generations, they might have joined Marxist terror groups. In other words, the ideology of radical Islamists is a convenient uniform in their crusade for power, sex, vengeance, excitement, whatever. The Telegraph’s Tim Stanley notes that one poll in France finds that more people in France, compared with residents of the Gaza Strip, support the Islamic State. It is always the spoiled, bored teens and college age students that are on the front line of "the revolution", BY DESIGN, as the older evil manipulative SOBs use them as cannon fodder. Often literally, and they are also the first put up against the wall and shot after their usefulness ends. See the "Cultural Revolution" and the "Hundred Flowers campaign" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Flowers_Campa ign Some of your former neighbors may indeed find a home in the Caliphate, discover they really really like rape and murder, and move up the ladder of their new Corporate World until that nice guy you used to have a pint with is the one laughing as the poison gas rolls down your street. Personally I consider such folk traitors to the lands they took oath to, but I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to giving my word and telling the truth. That's probably why I really am not fond of Barack Obama. Who has no such belief. |

Alfau! WOW! "The Islamic State is a Bold new startup" Now you know where Rocket gets his Worldview. Modern State Propaganda. Naturally State Control of News and Information is better for you than that lousy American Freedom BS, right? If that wasn't the Pravda of the New Empire it would be a comedy parody. As it IS the Official Revealed Truth.... Not so much. Rocket's link on how Europe is running out of Europeans has proven to be very prophetic. It's the reason given by some very smart people for WHY Putin is bent on the reconquering of Eastern Europe, since Russia need more Russians. the factual demographics of a decaying, corrupt, and aging population that simply does not make enough young people to pay for all the old folks is hitting Europe hard, and the US is right behind them. Replacing children of your own culture with imports to do the crap work and pay for your pensions is NOT a winning strategy. Look at it from the perspective of a teenager from ( for a good example ) Turkish parents who came to Germany to get a job. You never will be a full citizen, since German law is racist. You are expected to pay high taxes for social programs you will not receive, since any idiot can tell that the "free lunch" and pension programs will be broke by the time you want to retire. You are not really invited into the local culture ( unlike America, where our attitude is "come here legally, and you are one of us" ) and probably have a hard time getting laid. ( in large part because you have not been integrated into society,so speech, dress, and grooming differences work against your chances with the Blonde Frauleins. ) So why on earth would you have any desire to be part of a place that rejects you? Take typical teen angst to 11, culture shock, and a religion based on conquest.... Yeah Europe is hosed. Since the current status quo in many places includes "no police zones" in France, prosecution for complaining about the Jihadi in Holland, Murder of those who speak the truth, ( Holland again...but not just there ) and sex slavery in England.... these are still early days. |

Rocket you were explaining to me how it could be patriotic to go to a foreign land to kill your own countrymen? You write it like I condone it! Let's get something straight. My point is and always has been that these f**kers exist as a product of and in part the meddling of the West in their lands. That's my point. And believe you me, America is complicit in this shit more so than any other nation on the planet. Yes, complicit. Do you get it? America toppled Saddam, where has it got the world. Running scared. Scared enough the best they can do is air strikes on IS. Send in the whole damn military and finish it - but oh no America cannot do that for three BIG reasons. Repercussions in every Islamic corner of the world, never mind fighting IS in THEIR holy lands. American public have no stomach to send their men and women folk. They're tired of it and have had a belly full of the shit that's been stirred up for two decades and counting. America would not win. There is only one way for this to end. The West will not come out on top. The West will have to yield in many ways. That is not going to happen. This is a protracted war from Iraq to Afghanistan to Libya to Syria and a whole host of other nations, some yet to be. The end is nowhere near in sight and likely won't be in our lifetime. The good news for me is I don't fear it. I do wonder though what clusterfuck America will put the West in next. No doubt Cameron will be there on America's coat tails, which is why David Haines has been murdered by beheading. IS is hitting where it hurts. What happens to them when they're bombed, it only takes the killing of two journalists and one aid worker to get the attention they seek. Bombing them will have little effect. The Islamic patriots are not just there. They're in my country and yours, on our doorsteps ready to serve their patriotism for Islam and not a British or American government which fights their ancestral holy land, whether they are British or American born, and why for them it is patriotic to go to a foreign land to kill your own countrymen Do you get it? No, you can't blame Obama directly but he is definitely part of the problem along with the rest of the establishment. The Islam threat is the largest single threat facing the world and nothing is being done about it except drop a few bombs here and there. I hate to say but it ends badly for the world. Eventually, the Islamists will gain access to nuclear weapons and they will use them plunging the world into a nuclear holocaust. In the short term, Europe is . |
