Good on her for breaking ground for funny ladies. Gonna miss her...hope I make it to her age and even if its not me, hang with those that speak without a filter. One of my fav things about badweb...and her ... peeps speak their minds. One of my fav peeps (from h.r.) started in standup land...tough gig. i have much respect for those that can make a go of it in that realm. rip joan. |

We can talk. She was the XX chromosome Lenny Bruce. More, even, because she really paved the way for EVERY great female comic. Damn, I guess Robin needed some help entertaining God. |

Maybe entertaining God isn't what her and Robin Williams see as heaven. Maybe for them, especially Robin, heaven is finally not having to be "on" and actually have inner peace with themselves. Howard Stern brought that up after Robin Williams died and I thought that was an interesting point of view. |

Pity one of her last statements was regarding the Israeli Palestinian situation |

Blake: Good find .... Great write up. I stayed up last night to watch "A Piece of Work". I didn't know much about her and was amazed. Court |

Joan was an Original. Blazed a trail for all the women comics that followed. I'm not that concerned what any Hollywood type says about politics. Yes, I do get annoyed by insipid lack of comprehension of reality sometimes, and I am boycotting Matt Damon ( a really good actor ) for doing an anti-frakking movie paid for by Oil Sheiks. Actors get paid to pretend to be someone. Some are insightful and brilliant in their field, but pretending to be James Bond or General Custer doesn't mean they know anything.... about anything. Many of the entertainment folk are a bit leftist, and most who are not dare not alienate the vicious weasels who base their hiring practices on satanic principals. Wish it were different, but it's not. |
