Sounds like all the motorcycle stories I hear. When people ask "What's the fastest you've ever been on a bike?", my response is "Just north of 170". To them, this sounds underwhelming and a big letdown. I don't think they realize what 170 really is on 2 wheels. I also think they have listened to all the idiots on ninja 650's that say they've gone 165, and the kids on gsxr600's that say they have gone over 170. The worst was a guy in my hometown that said his stock Hayabusa would go 230mph. One of my co-workers allegedly wrecked his Hayabusa at 210 mph. Road rash and a dislocated shoulder. On the highway. Yeah right, kiddo. |

"My motorcycle does 185. I lost my license, now I don't ride" (with apologies to Joe Walsh) |

Media has been extremely lazy recently. Note the photo credits.
So a random unrelated pic was taped to an article that contained no actual info. Here are some other sites that used the pic: http://www.magnetron.com.br/blog/tag/pilotagem/ http://www.palo.gr/multimedia/koinonia-nea/me-patimeno-to-gkazi-kontres-me-420-aloga-kai-motosykletes-60-000-eyrw/10735388/ I also add that the bike has European plates! |

"I also add that the bike has European plates!" Maybe he was doing 185 kilometers per hour, that might be a bit more realistic. At 185 kph/114 mph the wind blast would be rough. |

2:45 am. Hmm. When do bars close, locally? Once upon a time, I was night manager at a 7-11 store. ( franchise ) we had a police scanner on 24/7 and I heard a lot of funny, and not so funny calls. At roughly the same time of morning... This is from memory...so.... "In pursuit, speeder, motorcycle, South on rt.15, just got off 390.... He's pulling into the K-mart construction site..... Ok, he drove into the hole... he's on foot now.... I'll have him in a minute.... " I had multiple State Troopers tell me that 50% of the people on the road after Midnight are drunk. ( free donuts and coffee are SOP in a smart convenience store, it induces the police to be cheap security. ) I did notice anyone pulled over at 3:00 am. no longer had a drivers license when arrested... again. |

Judging by the size & type of plate looks like either Brit, or Dutch to me. |

Nice find on the actually detailed news. He ran off after the crash with a broken ankle; found carrying drug crap too. Nice. I wonder what his toxicology tests came back looking like? Serious big brain guy here. Foot pursuit for 45 minutes, didn't think of DROPPING the drug crap in a storm drain? |

I love that the above photo is on file as "motorcycle hot fast". ( or whatever.......the editor called it up with some such search.....right? ) Darn distinctive profile too. The XB's really are noticeable. |
