That just...offends me, somehow. (those of you who've lived under a rock for the last 40 years may skip to 8:40...but I'd recommend listening to the whole thing because it's such amazing music...)
Shine On has "remember when we were young, you shone like the sun", but there's another Floyd song (damned if I can think of it) that has the rest of the lyrics in it. Verbatim. Either that or it's in Shine On somewhere and I missed the verse on youtube. I know those are Pink Floyd lyrics...just haven't found the exact track yet.
I guess what's old is new again...or there just aren't any original thoughts left(shrug)
Oh, I know it's not the same tune. But I swear those lyrics - in their entirety - are somewhere in a Floyd song...I just have to sit and listen for a bit, dust off the old LPs...
Yeah, but if John Fogerty can get sued (and lose) for plagiarizing a Creedence Clearwater Revival song that he wrote! than that song is too close to Floyd's...
>>how many people rip off parts of John Cage's 4:33?
A few years back, a band put a short period of silence in their album and attributed it to 4:33. A funny joke. Oops! Lawyers got involved! Money is to be made! They fought and lost, having to pay off for royalties for a silent spot on their record.
"Scorpions were the masters of the power ballad." Now selling diet cookies to body-conscious middle-aged women... but, at least, in the YouTube version lacks the "Rock You Like a Hurricane" http://youtu.be/0IrtlwjXZqc
