A neighborhood kid put two and two together, seeing the DR, Sportster, a Blazer missing an engine and a Hyundai getting some front end work, and dragged his mini bike over. It'll start and stall, but it seems like there is a drag when you pull the starter and the bike lurches. There aren't many markings on this thing to look up manuals. Ideas? |

I think the weights may be rusted on the drive clutch it may free up once started |

If it is one of the cheap Chinese minibikes then spares are a problem to get. if they go wrong you just throw away and buy another one |

James(Thumper74), Brumbear & Ltbuell have it probably right. When the flyweights on a centrifugal clutch freeze they can either be frozen inward in which case they will not drive when the engine revs up or freeze out causing a drag which is probably your case. Also the retracting springs can rust, break or loose tension limiting the ability to retract properly. Usually some new springs and some penetrating lube will get you back very near normal. A little of what Trogan said is true; parts will be almost non-existent so just match springs as close as possible from a hardware store. Flyweights seldom break but if so many of these Chinese bikes are using older Honda parts which you could match up. Good luck. I too love helping the young guys just starting out in my neighborhood. Yeah... It's one of the cheap pocket bikes. No brand markings on it at all. It looks like I'll need to pull the CVT transmission off the engine and break it down? Bob, I like helping them out too. The more people on motorcycles, the more voices there are for the cause. |

Take the drive chain off until you can make it run right. Usta be able to take those little clutches apart and sand the rust off to make them go again.....at least for a while. |
