An entertaining novelty perhaps, if you want a deliberately sub optionally handling car or motorcycle. To each their own I suppose. |

I like the looks of the Ariel Atom better, albeit it's even closer than this to a car... Of curious note, Ariel's getting back to bikes http://m.autoblog.com/2014/06/25/ariel-ace-motorcy cle-official/ |

They need to make a square-4. It probably could be made not to fall apart so much if it was water cooled. |

Looks pretty kewl, but for my $$$ I'd buy a nice used Honda S2000 and throw some tuner parts at it. When you look at the video, seems the suspension is VERY firm, and kinda wonky with the 2 front, 1 rear setup. I'd prefer this over any of their other 3wheelers though. |

Why? It's neither fish nor fowl. Furthermore has no business being grouped with, or featured in, a motorcycle mag. IMO, a proper motorcycle must have handle bars and the rider must straddle the seat. |

It's classified as a motorcycle because it doesn't have the required safety features for a car ... things like airbags. |

How do they get away with the Atom? It doesn't have an airbag, does it? Is it classified as a motorcycle? Trikes are classified as motorcycles, and I think that's how they got away with calling this a motorcycle, even though it clearly isn't. Motorcycles don't have car seats. I used to think that if it didn't lean, it isn't a bike, but I would call a goldwing with a trike kit a motorcycle. I guess bikes are like porn. I know one when I see it. |

While the reverse trike is more stable than a forward trike, they are still more tippy than either a car or a two wheel bike. Stability is achieved through a computer nanny, that cuts power or applies brakes when you get close to exceeding the limited stability envelope of the machine. So not a bad thing, but don't judge it's handling by it's looks. It isn't an Ariel Atom or a Super Seven. Heck, it isn't even a Mini Cooper S. |

>IMO, a proper motorcycle must have handle bars and the rider must straddle the seat. I'm of the mind that if it can't fall over, it ain't a bike |

With that logic, this ain't a bike.

Aint got handle bars or a saddle that you straddle. It's the missing link? |

No, that is not a bike. That's a two wheeled car. Like porn, I know it when I see it. But it's close...the equivalent of skinimax, perhaps. |

Not all motorcycles have handlebars, not all have you straddle. |

4x the weight of the EBR1190 with 10 less HP Why would this be fun? Teeps "IMO, a proper motorcycle must have handle bars and the rider must straddle the seat"...you are correct sir |

Let's think about the word 'motorcycle'. It is derived from motorized bicycle, as were the first 'motorcycles'. That car is not a bicycle with a motor. "IMO, a proper motorcycle must have handle bars and the rider must straddle the seat" I'm leaning toward this definition as well. |

The Federal Highway Administration definitions: Motorcycles -- All two or three-wheeled motorized vehicles. Typical vehicles in this category have saddle type seats and are steered by handlebars rather than steering wheels. This category includes motorcycles, motor scooters, mopeds, motor-powered bicycles, and three-wheel motorcycles. Passenger Cars -- All sedans, coupes, and station wagons manufactured primarily for the purpose of carrying passengers and including those passenger cars pulling recreational or other light trailers. |

"Motorcycles -- All two or three-wheeled motorized vehicles." "Trikes are classified as motorcycles, and I think that's how they got away with calling this a motorcycle, even though it clearly isn't." Yep. |
