Checking in from Skyline tonight; view from our balcony:  I got in about 140 miles of twisties today. Weather was great most of the day until about 4 PM. I skirted the edge of rain a couple of time but managed to avoid it while riding. Latest weather forecast looks great for Friday and Saturday. 2 days to go... | ||

Nice weather, great roads, and an RX and SX on site - looks like everything is falling into place! Thanks, Hugh! I'm going to leave home just north of Pittsburgh early and will be taking in some nice twisties coming down through WV and Virginia. Just got back home with my Triumph, freshly painted by Vern...   British Racing Green just looks... RIGHT. CORRECT. SCHWEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT. He's gonna finish a few details after the trip this weekend, but MAN does this thing look good now! And, no, I never figured out how to post pics... someone at our destination might be able to help... SOOO nice to have this bike looking like it should, repaired and painted the PROPER color! THANKS VERN!!!! | ||

Well the first Badwebbers have shown up; Sifo and Mary rolled in tonight. For those of you staying at the Skyline or nearby, Mike is going to have a cookout at the Skyline Saturday night. Burgers, pulled pork BBQ, bratworst and fixings, served buffet style on the deck overlooking an awesome view. $10 for all you can eat. Cold beer (draft and bottles) and wine also available. See y'all tomorrow! | ||

PART REQUEST: If anybody coming to the meet has an extra set of front brake pads for an XB (6-piston caliper) they'd be willing to part with, I could use a set. I think I'll be OK through the weekend but my pads are looking a little thin and it'd be nice to have some in case I need them. Thanks in Advance. | ||

A few Buells on site today:  A couple more at the overlook:  Long distance 1125R from Ohio:  and another Buell and a Moto Guzzi in attendance:  Expecting quite a few more riders to show up tomorrow, along with EBR dealer RPM with an RX and SX for us to drool over. Breakfast around 8, riding starts around 9, lunch at the Switzerland Cafe and General Store around 11-11:30, riding all afternoon, cookout at the Skyline Village Inn starting at 6. More pics tomorrow... | ||

Just got back home at 1:50. Had a great time Hugh ! Truly another awesome Buell event.....many of the Bullers from historic Marchbadness and Buelltoberfest events. I only lamely got a couple of pictures the whole weekend, I was having too much fun to stop to dig out my camera.....well until a certain Uly got inverted.....then I only got a few pictures before the batteries were spent. Long story, and I missed the best picture so I will let that story get out on it's own. Here is a preview.....  only a hundred feet short of the corner warning     Of course this happened just getting to the accident that we were riding back to! Damn near rolled his body into the EMT's arms!  He stood up to an EMT waiting for him. Awesome parking job! Sorry to say that the first Bueller down did end up with a broken collar bone. Just got back to the house at about 4PM; did almost 550 miles out and back... did the entire stretch of the BRP from Little Switzerland to Cherokee, then 441 over the mountain (DANG TOURISTS!), then "River Road" to Townsend, then- HOME, got a cold brew underway now! Had a great time, it was superb to see a lot of the old hooligans, and glad to meet a good number of new miscreants!!! Hugh, thanks for your efforts in getting this gig together- I'll hope to attend again sometime in the future! |
