...to be a grandfather. I'm 42 and I won't turn 43 before my first grandchild is born. I just got the call from my youngest son Kenneth. He and his girlfriend Yesenia are expecting a child. I'm very happy for them to have been bestowed with this most joyous blessing. He called me first, he's going to tell his mother next. I'm beside myself, shocked, stunned... and rambling now. Babies smell and they're all sticky and noisy. |

Congratulations on the good news pwnzor! The best part is they are really not yours. You can spoil them rotten and then enact the grandpa clause as i call it. the visit is over and you tuck them in their moms car, tell them you love them, give em a kiss and wave as they drive off. you know that they will be back, you know that they trust you, and the only real thing to do for them is be there. My grandboy is four and he and i were playing i spy this after noon. What a treat for me!! enjoy and ride the fun that awaits you dude! |

Thanks guys! I'm still in a state of shock, I never thought I would be a grandfather this early. I guess I'm glad Kenny waited 10 years longer than I did to start having kids... I was 17 when we had him. "Grandpa"... "Gramps"... "Granddad"... it's freakin WEIRD!!!! |

Yeah...... welcome to the club! Congrats! My response to the change in status was to organize a grandfather martial arts contest. SCA armoured fighting. Grandpa's vs. Youngsters. Age and treachery beats youth and enthusiasm. We kicked butt. |

Congrats, Pwnzor. I've been a "Papa" for just over a year. It's pretty cool. |

Yeah, but just think, in another 20 years (at age 62) you could be a GREAT grandpa. |

And we could reasonably expect him to live to be 82, and then he could be a GREAT-GREAT grandpa. How cool would that be? |

Congratulations! Grandpa is a great position to play! Start them young with games like "pull my finger". Then in time get the four year old a Swiss Army knife for Christmas. At five you should have them on a 50cc dirt bike. Eighteen years ago I became Pa-pa to a cute little blond girl. Then a couple more girls, Grandpa to them. Then three little boys to whom I am Pap-po. Don't worry about what name they use for you, just be glad they call you something. |

As soon as he or she is old enough, buy a drum set. Grandkids are the best. |
