Hey, the pre-emptive strike over bogus WMDs starting an unfunded war that benefited no one but Halliburton and black-water is an honest mistake that wasn't covered up and is no big deal. Umm, that war was voted on and approved by Congress with the appropriate funding. Hillary, Biden, Kerry, Reid and 73 other Senators voted for it. As did 297 Congressmen and Women. Unlike Obama's mission in Syria. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/107-2002/s2 37 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Resolution You and your revisionist history. Don't let some pesky the facts get in the way. |

Glad to see that Garry, by trying to pivot, is conceding that he was mistaken about the whole Plame affair, and acknowledging the Democratic exploitation of women. It's OK to exploit women, because, you know, it's for the women. Or the children. Or the poor. Or whichever group I haven't used to get what I want most recently. |

Joe Wilson was known for having done most of his search for information on the yellow cake uranium from the swimming pool of his hotel. His wife, if taken at face value was a CIA operative with a cover story of being a CIA desk jockey. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Obviously, if you can't find your evidence from the hotel swimming pool, it must not exist, regardless of what other intelligence sources tell you. I've asked this countless times now, but I'll try once more with Garry... Garry, given that the UN left the US to police Saddam after the first Gulf war (You know the good one. The "legal" one that the UN sanctioned.), and given the political climate at the time when the second war was being discussed, I'm just curious what your resolution to the situation would have been? How much longer should we have continued the sanctions and no-fly zones that the left was complaining was causing somewhere around 250,000 civilian deaths per year? I want to be an enlightened person. Please help to enlighten me. |

"given the political climate at the time when the second war was being discussed" Going to have to sort of disagree with you there. The first gulf war never ended. There was a ceasefire, not a peace treaty. The "second" gulf war wasn't the second gulf war, it was simply the resumption of the first, after over a decade of Saddam repeatedly breaking the terms of the ceasefire. |

Quick question first. Does that mean that Obamacare is the republicans fault because it was passed by congress which has a republican majority? I'm just trying to figure out what presidents should be held accountable for? |

"Does that mean that Obamacare is the republicans fault because it was passed by congress which has a republican majority?" Not much of a memory eh Garry? ACA was passed when the Dems owned both houses and the oval office, in spite of loud warnings about the coming disaster by Republicans. They were called obstructionists for trying to save the country from this debacle. |

Sifo, The problem is that the WMDs were a trumped up bogus excuse or at least a product of a very bad/incompetent (impeachment bad) decision by the Bush administration and the war was a major profiteering exercise by Cheney for Halliburton. |

Actually Obamacare is a good thing, it just is having a slow start because that all the republicans/tea party do is try to thwart it. Eventually the republican will need to find a way to contribute to the future growth of this country. We need healthcare reform and everyone needs insurance. Actually in the end, people will vote for politicians who take this country forward, not those who continuously try to subvert it. And it the same with patriots, they will be defined as those who try to keep this the best country in the world, not those who try to try to subvert our ability to keep a leadership role in the world. |

The delusions persist. Cheney completely divested himself from that company when he became vice president. That's what honest men do to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest. But, Cheney is the Left's boogey man, so there's nothing he isn't guilty of. Other than shooting his friend in the face, of course. |

Does that mean that Obamacare is the republicans fault because it was passed by congress which has a republican majority? You mean the Republican majority which was a MINORITY in 2010 where ZERO Republicans voted for it? This definitely qualifies for the 2014 Winston Smith Award. |

Right, because Republicans holding votes in the House caused the web site to not work, and programs within Obamacare to collapse under their own weight (as they were designed to do, but did it too soon). |

If you truly believed that, you would be screaming for Obama's head because he has done nothing but destroy our reputation and lower our leadership position around the world. He's an international joke that no one listens to or takes seriously. Our standing, internationally, could be no lower. And even if Bush was disliked, at least he was respected. Obama can't even say that. |

I think we need healthcare reform and everyone need to be insured. Do you think people should be insured or else go bankrupt when they eventually hit a major health issue? Should the kids in your community have healthcare/insurance? What makes a country better, kids insured or not? And I think no one else was/is working on a better solution or improvements to this one. I give, its all Obama's fault and bush and Cheney are... Great! |

And I think no one else was/is working on a better solution or improvements to this one. http://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house -bill/3121 You just don't hear about it because of the MSM that is in Obama's back pocket won't talk about it, the President won't meet with the House Republicans to talk about and the Senate will refuse to even vote on it. |

So.... your only defense of the allegations that Obama is at fault in starting a war with Russia is to parrot decade old Iraqi propaganda. Then you change the subject and are either so ignorant or dishonest that you blame the evil Republicans for Obama giving a billion of your dollars to a college bud of Michelle's to mess up the website for Obamacare. ( yep an Obama campaign contributor ) 8 freaking years of Bush the Younger and all you got is Iraqi propaganda and not one factual supporting point for Obama. Have them check your meds. You do realize they are killing people in Ukraine? |

Stay on topic, people. garryb, this is about Ukraine. Your BDS has flared up to change the subject to Plame, BadBush, GoodObama, healthcare. Get yer butt over to the "President O" thread where you are encouraged to show your support for Obama. Or the "Healthcare is not working" to educate us as to why the weaponization of health care is great. Focus. |

There was no war with Japan as of Dec. 5, 1941. Sanctions. Diplomatic Rhetoric. Japan had invaded China. But the US was not at war on that date. 2 days later..................... Of course the analogy is weak.... Sanctions & "warnings" is the word of today. 2 days from now? |

Well at least he isn't doing a preemptive strike. And it's Russia pulling a Hitler move not Obama. And stopping Putin, who's definitely has issues, from dominating Europe, seems like a better cause than what ever was the justification for the war in Iraq. Lastly, the US is in a more dominant world position with the stock market , business growth, foreign investment, and with more US Billionaires and millionaires being generated than any time I can remember. |

Garry if you look earlier in this thread I referenced the Sudetenland. I agree the pattern and the Russian rhetoric mirrors the 1930's. I'm still not happy with Putin's actions here but the EU faction is no prize either. Hmmm. Stopping Putin a better cause than freeing the Iraqi people from Saddam? Maybe. Time will tell if this was the moment that lost Europe. Your take on US economic power is the opposite of most of the rest of the planet. We're still big but both Russia and China have plans to cut us down to size. Don't buy the single number take on the economy. The DOW or S&P does not reflect the high unemployment or the loss of manufacturing might. GE, for example offshored....... killed.... a huge number of jobs by shutting down plants here and making curly bulbs in China. More people out of work every year. The millions of new gov. Jobs are being paid for by a shrinking base. Yes today we have the best military but Obama plans to shrink it down to 1940 levels. In 1940 we were still third rate. Projected force levels show that in numbers we'll be again. Our quality is still top notch don't get that wrong but we've had to be since we are outnumbered by the Axis powers. |

I'm not sure its better, both seem important. Unlike Garryb apparently, I'm not willing to write off a victim of tyranny because their skin is brown or because they pray to Allah. But what better way to stop Putin then to have a foreign policy that is coherent, effective, and strong. What we have had is 8 years of a demonstration of amateur hour in the white house. Worse than amateur hour, because most amateur's are at least humble enough that they can learn and improve. To be fair, I blame the media more than Obama and his lackeys. It was their job to vet candidates, and they failed us because of their blind and irrational idealism. |
