Ah; lighten up. It's different, but it's harmless. Yesterday, I was reading about a 27 year old pregnant woman in Sudan who was going to be executed because she wouldn't recant her Christian faith. Then I read about an Indonesian woman who was gang raped by 8 men and was sentenced to caning, all because she allowed a man into her house who wasn't her husband. Those are the things that I find disturbing. A bunch of guys who are fans of a cartoon that promotes peace, love and friendship, while not my cup of tea, is pretty damned positive in comparison.
Who hasn't seen Bugs when they were, say, 17, and suddenly got a joke that you didn't have the background for at 7?
Ren &Stimpy ( the original ) was full of political & sexual humor. The reboot sucked because the new guys got "kids like gross" and missed the point of mocking authority.
Doz, that is pretty kool right there. Love that guys art. Would he do some work for you if you asked? The adult party episodes of ren & stimpy are pretty good too. He also did some adverts for a convenience store shake machine called f'real shakes. The machines have a display on them that loop little animated shorts that crack me up.
Mike13, I always wanted to ask but haven't had a justified occasion. Amazing work and not all his stuff looks the same, so he has many styles. Maybe someday but I'll never do anything like my little pony. What's really funny is that if you ever met froggy, you would never think him a fan of that stuff.
Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man (though seeing it as an adult is a different story), and the classic Loony Toons and Tom and Jerry were good. The later dumbed down stuff and especially the latest is terrible.
South Park is vulgar, disrespectful, sophomoric and even a bit disturbing. It is also the most timely, biting and best satire on television today. I love it.
