Sifo, a polite correction. Obama wanted Socialized medicine, aka "Single payer", but knew he couldn't get that past Congress, period. That is assuming Putin doesn't kick The O's butt for starting a war first.  Second point. Yes, the Republicans didn't have input, but they DID slide a poison pill into one of the spending bills ( IIRC another "continuing resolution" they do now instead of a legal budget ) that insisted that Congress would be bound by the same law as everyone else. Naturally when that part kicked in they screamed like wounded water buffaloes and Barack Obama illegally paid their bills with your money in direct violation of at least 3 laws, including Obamacare.
