Bad news for the Hoaxers: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2014/03/the- climate-souffle.php I like this: "the IPCC admits that there is no evidence climate change has led to even a single species becoming extinct thus far." and "Climate change deniers are as committed. Their denial fits perfectly with their support for free market economics, opposition to state intervention and hatred of all those latte-slurping, quinoa-munching liberals, with their arrogant manners and dainty hybrid cars, who presume to tell honest men and women how to live. If they admitted they were wrong on climate change, they might have to admit that they were wrong on everything else and their whole political identity would unravel." The writer of that sure doesn't recognize the irony in it. If none of the models have been right about temperatures going up and no species are becoming extinct, what do the Hoaxers have left? When will we stop seeing pat references to carbon footprints? |

WWZ. Only after the zombie virus robs them of the ability to lie. Read "Rules For Radicals". The manual on how to lie effectively to gain power. The vegan radicals want us to stop these cow methane emissions immediately. They want us to stop eating meat. I can only assume they want to kill all the cows. This is like PETA on steroids with LSD. |

We need to rethink these decadent dairies and cattle ranches. Instead of The Matrix farming humans, we should hire robots to farm Bovine, extracting their methane to provide us with energy. It's a win-win situation. Free methane, and "hydroponic" steak. You could even legalize and tax psylocybine mushrooms, utilizing the cow's waste, and it would be win-win-win. |

Unless you want to raise cows indoors capturing the methane is difficult. Then you have to feed them and walk them on a track...... not worth it. Also that doesn't make the critter lovers happy....... the whole exploited natural creatures mantra. One of the fallacies of the vegan line is that herd meat animal's pastures displace farm land. True in eastern states for many cows but out west you use land not prime for farms. They do fart a lot I admit. Simply this is a way to increase the power of authoritarians by taxing everything and making life too expensive unless you are cattle and rely on your Masters for food & shelter. |

First US case.... I'm locking the doors and turning off the phone after calling in not sick yet. The odds are pretty slim, as it's a tropical virus and wouldn't live long in the still freezing NE, but I'm in Vector Central........ Then again I said I'd stay home at the first sign of biowar attack, and then just shrugged and said, "it's only Anthrax" and kept working. No sign of them ever catching the murderer of that attack. |

I've got a plan that will save the planet. Unfortunately, it requires the ability to make all types of matter from energy. And we'll need a space station 873 miles wide, covered in solar panels, to soak up solar energy. And we'll need transporters to beam empty battery packs to the space station, and full battery packs back to each person's home. Maybe my theory isn't quite ready for production yet. |

Make the station bigger, and beam the power down to rectannas in farmland. Unlike solar panels the receiving antenna is just pipes & wires you can drive tractors under that cast no huge shadow, so you can still grow crops. And make multiple power sats to feed multiple receivers. That way you don't need one the size of Texas. You make hundreds with a total area the size of 4-5 Alaska's. |

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/environment/article4 051905.ece Crackdown ordered on climate-change sceptics Ministers who question the majority view among scientists about climate change should “shut up” and instead repeat the Government line on the issue, according to MPs. The BBC should also give less airtime to climate sceptics and its editors should seek special clearance to interview them, according to the Commons Science and Technology Committee. Andrew Miller, the committee’s Labour chairman, said that appearances on radio and television by climate sceptics such as Lord Lawson of Blaby, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer should be accompanied by "health warnings". Those who dissent from the official truth must be silenced. Labeling them NAZIs or mentally ill is classic agitprop. |

http://atlanta.cbslocal.com/2014/04/01/study-veget arians-less-healthy-lower-quality-of-life-than-mea t-eaters/ ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) – Vegetarians may have a lower BMI and drink alcohol sparingly, but vegetarian diets are tied to generally poorer health, poorer quality of life and a higher need for health care than their meat-eating counterparts. A new study from the Medical University of Graz in Austria finds that vegetarians are more physically active, drink less alcohol and smoke less tobacco than those who consume meat in their diets. Vegetarians also have a higher socioeconomic status and a lower body mass index. But the vegetarian diet — characterized by a low consumption of saturated fats and cholesterol that includes increased intake of fruits, vegetables and whole-grain products — carries elevated risks of cancer, allergies and mental health disorders. Vegetarians were twice as likely to have allergies, a 50 percent increase in heart attacks and a 50 percent increase in incidences of cancer. I'm skeptical of most diet studies. I've been told Coffee is bad & then good. Eggs, butter, evil? natural? good? what week is this and which study? OTOH the carnivore in me wants to snicker at the idea that vegetarians get mental health disorders. Like I always thought, eh? but Low protein diets aren't that funny, how many children are doomed with mental retardation because of bad diet? ( a typical "awww! emotional appeal ) How many leaders in government are mentally ill as they push fad diets on our children? ( not so funny now ) |

http://news.yahoo.com/scientists-dismiss-claims-ye llowstone-volcano-erupt-235751568.html;_ylt=AwrBEiGtIT5TMyMA7l7QtDMD Scientists dismiss claims that Yellowstone volcano about to erupt that's good. There's a good documentary and a bad movie about the Yellowstone Super Volcano. In a nutshell about every 70k years, one of these pops off and dumps enough ash into the air to change the climate for years, and cover the ground downwind in a geologically notable amount of ash. Heavy enough to crush your house, thick enough that car's filters clog up...Mt. Saint Helens on 'roids doesn't cover it. The last one was about 70k years ago, so we're due. ( we're overdue for a major asteroid hit ) "Due" is pretty loose. "The chance of that happening in our lifetimes is exceedingly insignificant," True. The chance of anything happening in our lifetimes is statistically tiny. Short lives, big universe. Notice that these things do happen in Somebodies lifetime. These "super volcanoes" can be country killers with severe global climate problems, mass starvation, years without summers, or actual civilization ending mega disasters. Went to youtube to look for the vids, and there's dozens of killer volcano vids. Enjoy. |

What would really suck, Patrick, is that Yellowstone erupts (remember that Mt. St. Helens was "dormant"?), wipes out the midwest with ash, shakes loose the San Andreas Fault, and rattles Cumbre Vieja to wipe out the East Coast with a tsunami. That's a Bad Hair Day, for sure... |

Re: http://m.motherjones.com/politics/2014/04/inquiring-minds-john-hibbing-physiology-ideology So leftists aren't really willfully blind to reality, they are actually genetically blind to it. Gotta read between the lines by Mother Earth News... Pitty the article didn't make that clear, choosing instead to focus only on the perceptions of "conservatives." It sure does explain the acceptance and even glorification among leftists of abortion and anal sodomy, also their dismissal of most serious evil in the world. It's just too disconcerting for them to think about. I've noticed this since 9/11, the oft heard leftist dismissal of "it was just 15 guys." But there's more to it. The anti-gun leftist agenda doesn't make as much sense then, or does it? Blaming guns washes away the painful truth that real evil exists all around us. Too difficult to confront, so better to ignore it and demonize firearms. (Message edited by blake on April 06, 2014) |

I'm a little skeptical on that one. These things tend to be on a bell curve, not an either/or. OTOH it does explain the folk that earnestly tell you ( for example ) "the sky is green", then when you show them it's blue, tell you how the Republicans wanted to keep slaves...."but what about the blue sky?" you ask. "Children shouldn't be forced to play with guns" they tell you. ??????????? Perhaps the capacity for self delusion in some cases ( but not all ) makes external truth a total mystery. Or they just are dishonest. Hard to tell an evil troll from a delusional cretin, isn't it? Back to science. http://www.sfgate.com/news/strange-weird/article/N ASA-photo-captures-strange-bright-light-coming-538 2677.php I'm betting this is just another Malaysian Airliner theory. Or Marvin. Eco-Cow. Tastes like sewer rat, but it's Eco-Friendly! I'm normally not a gen mod food fearing guy, but low fart cows? Be afraid. Ilmi Granoff of the Overseas Development Institute said an alternative to controlling cattle emissions would be to cut the number of cows. “Forget coal, Forget cars. The fastest way to address climate change would be to dramatically reduce the amount of meat people eat,” he said. “But that involves cultural preferences and they are difficult to touch.” Let me get this straight? You're ok with killing the cows to save the planet. You're ok with forcing people to not eat meat. But you worry about cultural sensitivity? Ok Blake, you may be right. |

Blake! this is political.... re: http://m.motherjones.com/politics/2014/04/inquirin g-minds-john-hibbing-physiology-ideology see also. http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&mpid=80 Klavan & Whittle: Would America Be Better Off If Its Motto Was 'Mind Your Own Business'? Whittle's hypothesis is that there is a genetic disposition to ordering other people around. Makes sense. Also the notion that those who desire freedom may be a minority. Darn it. I guess we'll just have to be a very militant minority. Presents a philosophical problem. How do I impose over others my demand for me to leave them alone? on the "progressive mind" Here we have people that seem to have built in the ability to lie to themselves and ignore reality, yet many seem to do ok in business, have families, and normal lives. Perhaps this is a perception problem where a lot of people are just easily influenced by tribal norms? Such a deep seated desire to be one of the pack that it over rides all rational thought? In extreme cases, ( like, say, This administration ) the ability to lie to yourself then couples to an ability to lie to others with no sense of wrong at all? Or is that just evil, as I was taught by the "now discredited Christian morals"? ( and just WHO was it who claims it is discredited? Hmmm. ) Are these people evil? Or mentally ill? Does it make a difference when they steal your property and kill you? |
