I can't find my old thread oh well, new threads are fun. Something is up with the left cylinder smoking a bit much but thats what it looks like in action. I'm going to check the float tomorrow and maybe swap the carbs to the other cylinder. See if the smoke follows the carb. I'm hoping there aren't any messed up seals from where the engine was sitting for so long during the build process. I swapped the front 18t sprocket for a 16t and it made a huge difference! It really pulls and runs through the power band fast! Much more fun! I planned on powder coating the cradle and subframe the Scion gray this week but the powder was backordered. Getting closer to having all the bugs worked out which is a good feeling, just not quite there yet. |

That is an accurate comment in this instance! Some bug in the wiring is preventing us from getting the high beam to come on. Oh well, we will figure it out eventually. |

That's so awesome! Good to know you're doing your part to reduce the mosquito population as well. |

How does the whole package work together and what is it like to ride? I mean is there anything you can compare it to? |

Looks great. Looks like the pipes might spark at a decent lean. Maybe its the pic. Great job on the project. I'm sure it's a grin to ride. |

It's pretty unique. I've not ridden a bike like it which is if course why I made this one. The cg feels really low and it changes direction quite quickly. I can't give a super thorough review as I'm still working on debugging things. The pic is taken at a decent g out and a fast left right section. The pipes might scrape at some point yes but that doesn't bother me too much. I think they are a nice homage to the pipe location of RZ350s and 500cc GP bikes. I'll admit they are an area of function follows form. I like the way they look. Also, the chambers reach a certain point in the lean angle that they start to get further from the ground so it will take some Gs and bumps at lean to really bash them. The mufflers are more likely to hit but they are at the same height as the foot pegs and further inboard. We will see how the bike progresses as the weather warms, the roads clear if debris, and my skill set gets the winter cobwebs off, but so far the pipes haven't been a problem. |

When do you estimate the powerband wakes up? Also, how narrow is it? Is it streetable? |

5500-9000ish It feels like its a midrange motor more so than top end. I'm using pwk 28s and a slightly lengthened header to try and keep milder and broad midrange motor than a top end numbers motor. I wasn't sold at first but the warmer weather and the gearing change have changed my tune. It's definelty street able with the exception of the gas mileage and small tank. I'm working on a solution for that although it will never be a touring bike. Not that I want it to be. I'll see about more pics. That's my business and I handed my brother the camera with some ballpark settings. When he finished he said "wow! Photography is harder than it looks!" Haha vindicated as having a real job! I'll keep working with him to try and get more/better shots. |
