I hope you all have a great time. One of these years, I'll make the run, but this year is out. (One of these years I'll make the Headless Horseman run as well; but something always seems to stop me) |

Yeah, I'll be slab'n it most of the way Friday night. Don't need to take any unfamiliar roads in the rain and dark. Just have to remember how to go through Troy to avoid Albany. |

I would avoid Albany and Troy between 4 and 6pm or so, that's usually when the traffic is the worst. Not sure how you're coming George, but if you want to avoid Albany, just hop on I-787 N whenever you see it (I-87 and I-90 both hit it). Take that all the way up to the route 7 west exit (9W IIRC), then follow route 7 out until you hit the I-87N exit again, and take that up to Lake George. Another option is to keep following 787 until it ends, and just keep going straight. You'll snake along the Mohawk river for a little bit, then dead end right on route 9. Take a right, and work your way north. It's a little tamer than 87. It crosses back and forth over 87 several times, and will take you right to the Fort William Henry if you stick with it. You will hit some traffic in downtown Saratoga, and some coming up through Glens Falls, but it shouldn't be too awful depending on timing (and you'll have several opportunities to change your mind and get on 87 before you hit Saratoga). |

Since I'm probably not going to leave home until sometime between 7 and 8pm I should miss all the traffic. I will imprint 787 in my memory and let the weather decide when I pick up 87 again. Figure if I fuel up in Lee, MA I'll be able to reach the lake with no more stops. If I don't see everyone for a nightcap I'll see y'all in the morning at the FWH. |

Just walked in the door myself. What an AWESOME weekend. Thanks to all that showed and a HUGE thank you to Dave for putting on another great ride/GTG. Froggy you are the frickin man! I don't know what voodoo you did to my bike but the seat of the pants feel is definitely better. And I got 41 mpg on the return trip! Fred, thanks for getting lost with me and putting up with my slower pace, it was fun trying to catch up to ya! Mike, thanks again for showing and doing the photos, what I've see so far looks amazing and I can't wait to see the rest. I hope your wife had a good time, it was nice meeting her. It's great that we can have some great riding and still be able to make time for family. It was great seeing everyone again and I can not wait to do it all again next year. Just no Big Indian in a monsoon next time! |

Thanks everyone for making this a great weekend. Really happy the sun was out when we got up Sat. morning. Fred, thanks for opening the door at 12:30, was not a good night to sleep on the deck. Both Dave's and Mike brought family and they put up with our antics at dinner, brave souls there. Was a little nervous about the trip home with the bike acting up so a big thanks to Dave, Fred and Frank for making sure I got most of the way there. Thanks Frank for hanging in to Brewster, that was a little roundabout for you to get home. Hope everyone had a good time. Let's do this again next year. |

Glad everyone made it home whole. Another good year, no police, no parts runs, sunshine for the ride. I've two stickers left for some tagging at home. I should have pictures next weekend. |
