Thought I'd post this up for those who haven't seen it yet.. (this one is all together different than the Helicon assembly video that has been around for awhile) http://vimeo.com/26253925 Super cool! |

For a long time I've curious about the history and differences between the XB engines and the Helicon engines. Thanks. |

You know.. I looked at the scoop, frame by frame after Doug's post also. I think the contrast between the black head fins and natural cast isolator bracket may have stood out to be something new. My best guess, anyway.. It was neat to see this video, HD aside.. I sure look forward to more of this caliber someday from EBR! |

Pardon my stupid question, but how do you press "play" for the video? |

Clicking anywhere on it will start it, doesn't have to be the play button itself. It looks like Vimeo switched to HTML5 recently, so you will need a HTML5 compliant browser to view it. |

That's a great video and I wonder why it's only just come to light now? What surprises me more, having never been there, is the size and scale of what Buell were manufacturing. That's a staggering effort. Maybe this topic is better served in the conspiracy topic as I cannot believe Harley Davidson would just shut down Buell looking at where the company was clearly heading. Profit! Rocket in England |

Buell was also, just so we're clear, making a boat load of money for Harley-Davidson that had nothing to do with Buelll. The good news is that it's resulting in some unofficial collaboration, even now, as HD figured out the had, without realizing it in advance, lost some "core competency" when the Buell employees (who knew and understood some of the amazing things they were doing) left. |

When I look back over the years and some of the arguments I've had on BadWeB, one thing I argued for often was more information. I can't help but feel I've missed a trick or three here. I've never understood why the secrecy. Or was it modesty? Either way, looking at that video even I can see there's a massive amount of stuff I didn't know. Never mind could have imagined. I am staggered by how much Buell were doing to actually manufacture a motorcycle when I thought most of Buells work was in the design, conception and assembly stages mainly. In fact I feel like a bit of an idiot watching that video. I must owe a good few apologies somewhere. Where do I start Rocket in England |

ok I see now it is the fins and the isolator, but if you let your imagination go(just a little bit) it looks like an external cooling fan |

This just opens old wounds for me, anger at the MoCo for being so myopic. |
