My lad has been pestering me to get a game loaded onto the house pc, he wanted Battlefield or something, but his mum (ex French army sergeant) is adamantly opposed to shoot-em-up games & I agree with her. We had World of Tanks, but it crashed the computer so many times I took it off. He's accepted the decision & asked if he can have a flight simulator instead. He's not a stupid kid, he's worked out that to get something he wants, to ask for something he knows he's not going to get first. So what's the best free/cheap flight simulator to download? Running a AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 4200+ 2.20 ghz, with 3 Gb of RAM. Win 7 64bit. windows index 2.5. Any & all advice much appreciated (I know jack about this sh**) |

While not free, X-Plane is the best flight sim you can get your hand on. The demo mode will let you get a taste of it for free so you can see if that is something he likes. http://www.x-plane.com/desktop/home/ Shame its discontinued, the Microsoft Flight Simulator series was great too. |

"Shame its discontinued, the Microsoft Flight Simulator series was great too." BTW: You can find heavily discounted copies of M$ Flight Simulator at Fry's or other game stores if they still have some in stock. |
