It takes some real stones to take what is probably the biggest single complete government failure in the history of the world and turn it into a political fundraiser.

Sifo, you know as well as I do that Obama would organize a fundraiser from Airforce One while D.C. burns after an Iranian Nuclear attack. ( delivered by truck, btw )
I've always admired "moveon.org". It takes real stones to start a company ( a very well paying one, no doubt ) with the premise that, "yeah, the President is a liar, but, let's move on from that...." and then extending it on to support the Revolution. With the rope that Capitalism sells them.
Then after flying to Vegas for his fundraiser, Obama would again tell us the defining issue of our day is income inequality. ( so he must take your money to give it to his donors, as usual )
My fear . . .and I confess a diminished level of fluency . . .is that the real problems have not yet begun.
The website debacle is but a precursor. We now now, having gathered all the heads of tech companies, that what the government spent (the numbers are fuzzy since Mr. Transparency tells us that our business is none of our business) about $900,000,000 for what Amazon folks suggest should have cost somewhere in the range of $20,000,000. We now, also, know that there was no on eon the feds end with any background in web development and that the "chief architect" way laying on a beach for 10 days during the rollout.
The website was, and is, a disaster.
But . . .
That's going to pale when suddenly, perhaps in a matter of days, we start having millions of Americans discovering, probably during a visit to a hospital, that they have no insurance.
The feds essentially, in my over-simplified view, took a system that needed a lot of improvements and destroyed it.
Interesting bedfellows are evolving though as hospitals are learning that they can make a bundle by simply paying the obamacare premiums for the homeless. If a homeless or indigent person comes in now the hospital eats ALL the cost . . . often thousands. But . . .if they can, as these folks come through the door . . off to pay their premium if they sign up . . the hospital can then bill the feds.
Amazing.
These folks, each and every one, would have been fired without delay in private industry.
If anyone does not see this as rampant Socialism, then they reside somewhere south of intelligent and moral. Obamacare is simply un-American and must be destroyed before it destroys us as a nation.
It astounds me that there are a few lurkers on this very thread who support Communism but aren't man enough to support their views in reasoned debate. Instead, they hide in the shadows.
Where did the bigshots go who were proudly thumping their chests when this crime started unfolding in October?
We now, also, know that there was no on eon the feds end with any background in web development and that the "chief architect" way laying on a beach for 10 days during the rollout.
Keep in mind that none of these folks have experience running health insurance companies either. It's by far the most complicated insurance there is BTW. There is little reason to believe that the execution of the actual program will go any better than the website. I've said it many time already, the website was the easy part.

I heard about that the other day. It's astounding. It's also throwing the balance of the system that much more out of balance. The hospitals are loving it though! I knew this opened the door to just buying insurance when you get sick and need health care. I never dawned on me that the hospitals might actually pay the premiums (only a small portion though, the you and I pick up most of the tab) so that they will be able to get paid for any and all medical procedures covered by that insurance.
Now, I'm sure some people will say how great it is that these folks are getting insurance. ObamaDontCare is working great, right? Well, what's the likelihood of that homeless person who didn't pay the first months premium, paying the second months premium? Yea, it's about zero. So the insurance company will be on the hook for possibly tens of thousands of dollars in bills (in some cases much more) while only taking in a couple hundred bucks. That's not a business model that works. It's the business model being forced on them though. Care to take a guess what the response will be from the insurance companies? I'm willing to bet that it won't be to offer lower insurance premiums as was promised by the pResident.
What insurance companies ? They are bailing from this thing fast too. Go take a look at how many have committed to keep the policies in effect when the next 2014 open enrollment occurs......
It is truly and purely unmitigated risk rife with adverse selection - there would not be a competent actuarial anywhere that would sign on to that contract. When their 'bailout ends' (because their is currently in the bill a subsidy to support any short run losses against policy initiations, they will abandon the market'
It is, and always has been, about getting paid and consolidating power back to the Fed. What you want to really watch - is who is buying the reinsurance funds from these policies - you know the derivative toxic assets that were bundled just like the housing crisis ..... yep FIFTYS

There are all sorts of time bombs embedded within Obamacare.
Will we force doctors to treat the millions of new Medicaid patients who are signing up for services that can be only partially reimbursed? How exactly will the IRS collect penalties from millions of off-the-books youth who choose not to buy coverage?
For those who chose not to buy health insurance in the past, will these newly insured really follow through their initial signups with steady monthly premium payments? If not, how will we collect what they owe? Will all those who lost their coverage have enough money to buy the costlier Obamacare replacement plan?

Professors talked mellifluously about trendy green issues, gay rights and abortion without ever explaining that those lectures came at high financial costs. “Hope and change” benevolent government sounded great to the young and idealistic. What was left out was that a captivated cohort was taken for granted and thereby seen as an easy mark to pay for it.
They NEED to actually get some 'insurance' people in that thing.... oh who am I kidding - any idea that this is 'insurance' should be long gone by any paying attention.
IF you are going to give premium holidays - up to three months, allow retro active enrollment, make no underwriting mitigation for any previous health status, fail to adequately compensate in face of claims, administratively @ whim reinstate previously cancelled policies and fine people for NOT participating in 'policies' - then it simply is NOT insurance. by any f'n stretch of the imagination.
"...forced onto the ObamaCare exchanges, where most plans only provide local medical coverage. As Americans realize they must pay for all non-emergency medical care when they leave their home county, their decisions may have a profound impact on the real-estate market, particularly the second home sector, and on the travel business."
Ax the realestate portion of the bill .... enjoy the battle cry of the supporters of it is that is it not 'every' house that pays the tax - you know - just those evil one percenters that are living well will pay the RE Tax....
If you sell your home for a profit above the capital gains threshold of $250,000 per individual or $500,000 per couple then you would be required to pay the additional 3.8 percent tax on any gain realized over this threshold. via Sara Orrange from my old home town of Spokane
but be of good cheer - it is NOT 'JuST' house - it is any investment or transaction that generates a capital gains (and lest you think you can get way with making it a 'business' transaction - rest assured - they have the sale / merger transaction covered as well)
More cheer for the Holidays Remember to thank your local Democrat that signed yes to it without reading it
(the alternative is they read it and they fully intended to screw you - I will let you decide which is more contemptible - remember they have exempted themselves from this thing with carte blanche impunignity. )
So THAT'S why Karl Levin is retiring from our state, I thought he was a little young to retire...He didn't want to be remembered for screwing the retiree
I have staffed this off a bit - because it was only a creeping paranoia - but those bells are ringing louder.
ICD-10; is the newest codification of Diagnostic codes - it is owned and copywrite material of the WHO (World Health Organization) - it is mandated and required that any billing to be paid by the ACA be coded in the ICD-10 format for DX
All of the critical infrastructure of being ICD-10 compliant is a direct and hierarchy silo - meaning the data is reported nationally, and not shared locally, despite the idea that if you go to the ER in an out of area region your charts will be available to those doctors....(it simply is not the case - 1) It violates HIPAA rules (privacy and security rules for medical billing/records) 2) the formats don't talk to each other. At last estimate there were over 500 distinct EMH/EMR formats from nearly half as many vendors .... they simply don't, cant' wont, will never 'talk' to one another (and that is part of their proprietary design - to force you to buy 'their' software)
So where does all the data go ?..... IPAB for sure - the 'payment' committee that is to decide course of payment for illnesses and proceedure codes
but in a darker sense - what if you could target, track, incarcerate or eliminate those with non standard diagnosis....
Washington state has already seen the melding of penal health and incarceration with the state Medicaid agency of HSPS purchasing McNeil Penetary Island (over 3 years ago )
So you go to the doctor and are diagnosed with 'Oppositional Order' in your annual REQUIRED physical and that data gets stored where, and for what use......
PS the DX for Beheading is in the ICD-10 as a REIMBURSABLE billing code. ie - you can, will, and may be beheaded, and your estate - family will be billed for the proceedure
Screw black helicopters, I am more worried about clinical FEMA Giollitines
Guillotines are not a problem. That would be a capital improvement, which no doubt is not allowed. The existing saws and cauterizers work just fine, and already have billing codes.
I'm pretty sure I qualify for BOTH of the first 2, while denying any connection with that 3rd. ( which I think qualifies me for a 4th..... )

Huh, a breath of reality from the Avoider-in Chief. I just watched a video from the President's end-of-year press conference; when talking about ObamaCare, he said, "Since I'm in charge, obviously we screwed it up." This was not edited, or the end of one sentence and the beginning of another. The video was from Bloomberg.
I had an epiphany last night after too much Russian Grog (it is like Rum spiced nog, but with vodka instead)
What if you could pit the Religion of the Green Economy and its Liberals AGAINST the Over Expansion of the O and his minions that are hawking the Socialist Health Care idiom....
One would have to agree that anything the Greener party does would be granted an exemption against the ACA because .... well its for the planet !.... and a fund management through their accounts would - as health care costs explode (and they always have) that it would further bankrupt the Green Carbon Ideology and show it for the money sham that it is.
So a liberal cannibalistic feeding frenzy where one side exempts itself from the other, and costs are driven through the roof as the fund becomes unmanageable and inevitably collapses.....
All hail the Grog ! All hail the great double lie of Socialist nothing !
does it solve health care - nope does it solve global warming - nope does it expose the left for both lies - yep! does it bilk liberals out of their money - double plus good comrade - and how.
enjoy - you paid for it ; every time you go to work and they steal money from you in FICO, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, and of course Taxes and the new 'Insurance premium' you are required for this mess.
I really can't say I'm surprised at this point. A year ago I would have been, but after seeing the initial roll out, I would have been surprised to see it fixed this fast. I still get an error when I try to register. SNAFU doesn't begin to cover this mess! They would get much farther spending their money on actually fixing the system rather than on very questionable advertising for a system that isn't usable in the first place. The bad parts of this legislation are yet to come too!
dribble double speak, follow the bouncing ball, looks like they want to 'extend' those 'bad apple' coverages until after the primary races cook off and are down to less than a month until the 2014 elections.
And the docile sheep will be fooled yet again and believe that the O is so benevolent and being blocked and obstructed by the Reps and Tea Parties.... and of course the Racists.
