An Iowa(!) metro area 6th grader got suspended when he was in a project class to make a bridge (or some shit like that) with paper and tape. The teacher "thought" his creation or a part of it looked like a gun.It fell into the school tolerance policy of "no weapons, real or pretend". WTF WTF WTF. Are there no more pictures of guns in text books on war/ wild west/gold rush history nowadays?? Because that, I guess would be a violation too. Wouldn't it be great if every kid in that class(on cue) pointed their finger at the teacher and went "bang".....Better yet,the whole school....every day, until the policy is removed.Maybe the whole country of school kids should start a weekly "bang at school day"....then we would either have a school system of common sense or school vacation days forever.... |

Part of the bridge looked like a gun? With a slight bit of imagination, a finger looks like a gun! So does a pencil. We had better start banning pencils! I've often wondered about the pictures in text books that we were taught with. History books will filled with pictures of guns, often being used against other people! Have these pictures been scrubbed? Is there a link to this story? I would love to see this ballistic bridge. |

The story was on a local radio show this morning. It was an interview with the family lawyer that is involved in the case.He was very careful not to mention any names or the school district...other than it was in the metro area(Des Moines). Lawyer was "like WTF" too and thinks he has a case against the school of some sort...maybe not only a gun issue, but an issue of calling out just this one boy. |

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Newtown school shootings. I live in the town next door (not that it makes any difference) But the media hype is just stupid, like they've got nothing else to do...not to mention any/all political soapbox standees that want attention. So anyone drawing that much attention to a simple shape is emotionally unstable (IMHO- not that it makes any difference). Do I want my kids safe- of course! Do I want them to be taught to become paranoid- NO! |

If he'd kissed another boy classmate they might've bumped him up a grade... (Message edited by mtnmason on December 13, 2013) |

So why do all these shootings seem to come from crazies on the left? Almost all of them! Arapahoe High gunman held strong political beliefs, classmates said
quote:"He had very strong beliefs about gun laws and stuff," said junior Abbey Skoda, who was in a class with Pierson during her freshman year. ... In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as "Keynesian." "I was wondering to all the neoclassicals and neoliberals, why isn't the market correcting itself?" he wrote. "If the invisible hand is so strong, shouldn't it be able to overpower regulations?" Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing "you republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?"
At what point do we outlaw the left as dangerous? So, I wonder what his strong beliefs on gun control were? |

If we continue on this path and I see nothing to suggest otherwise, the United States will be a third-rate power within fifty years or less. Our rusting nukes in their silos will be the only thing that prevents a hostile takeover. |

http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2013/12/13/missouri-st ate-considers-banning-nerf-guns-after-lockdown/ It's an ongoing and very nasty propaganda campaign to make guns evil. ( monopoly on force ) Avoid gun free zones, you're safer that way. |
