Hello guys and gals, I'm really hoping all of you can see this, as I am not familiar with how BadWeb works. My name is Scott Williams and I am the son of Todd Williams.
First of all I would like to say how amazing it felt to see all these posts for the first time! Thank you all for the wonderful comments. All of you obviously know how good a man my Pop was. He was a Buell fanatic! He loved these bikes so much. In my personal opinion he should have been right there with Eric designing and marketing. Passionate, isn't a good enough word to describe his love for these great bikes.
With that said, I am planning a Memorial ride for him and my mother. It will be up to "the View" at the Dragon AKA Deals Gap, where me and my sister will spread ashes. All details will be coming threw an event on my facebook. Anyone that knew my Dad, talked to him, or just rides buells and wants to support you are more than welcome to join.
This is were I could really use some help: There was a couple of guys that are on BadWeb that attended my Dads service and wanted me to let them know about the ride. The guy I talked to was a tattoo artist in the Atlanta area some where. If you guys can please share, or spread the word about this ride that would be great! I want to make sure anyone that is interested does know about it.

Time and distance prevent me from attending in person, but my spirit will be there.
Thanks for letting us all know about this, if there's any other information you can share with us I know many were wondering about the circumstances. If it's too painful I'm sure we'll all understand. |

Scott,it was myself and Frank Carola that you met at your dad's service.I'm really happy that you posted here as this is the place in the Buell community that your dad hung out and here is where you'll find the Buell riders that knew and loved him.I'm not a member of Facebook and don't see much information when I click on that link,so I hope you keep us updated on when the ride will be.I'll let Frank know (he's the tattoo artist you met) and see if he can look on Facebook. |

Scott- do post up here for the details of when that ride will occur- Deal's gap is in my backyard. FWIW, "the view" I believe is what is also known as the Calderwood Dam overlook...

This is great, so glad I got in touch with all of you! It seems most of you are not on FB so I will diffidently keep all the updates on here. I look forward to meeting and seeing some of you guys again! The ride will be October 10th, 11th, and 12th.
The plan right now is to ride up Friday morning to Copperhead Lodge, hang out and catch up friday night, ride early Saturday Morning up the dragon, spread ashes at the view and then do some real good roads for the rest of the day. Head back to Lodge and ride home sunday morning. I will post more details as me and my sister figure them out. Thanks so much for everyone that spread the word and getting back with me!! |

Scott, Glad to see you found some of his friends here on BWB and glad that you are doing a memorial ride. I lost my Dad on NC28 almost 13 years ago. We had memorial rides for the following 10 years and then quit on the 10th anniversary. The connection to all this is that a few years before Dad passed and while on one of our Buell recon rides Todd, Dad & I helped rescue a friend from California when his bike broke down on the Cherohala Parkway. Somewhere I have photos of your Dad and my Dad sitting on a guard rail on the BRP. I checked your Facebook Page and cannot find the info regarding the memorial ride so keep us updated here too.

Hey guys. More details for the ride, my Dad Todd Williams. It is officially October 10th-12th. The lodging place has changed to Gatlinburg Tn. We are planning to meet there Friday Oct 10th evening and then Saturday Morning Riding down to the Dragon, Spreading ashes at the view, then a scenic route back to Gatlinburg. We have some of our family from Pittsburg coming down, a couple other Buell riders and friends. Anyone is more than welcome to join!!!
So far we have started to fill up the:

Gatlinburg, TN 37738
Space is very limited but there is still some Vacancy. It is a very busy time of year so if you plan to join try to book as soon as possible. Try to get a Hotel close if you cant get a room there. Most are within two miles of each other in Gatlinburg.
We are looking at around 15-20 people. So Friday and Saturday night we will all get together for drinks, food or just to hang out and tell some good old stories. I will post any more details/information as it gets closer. Any questions you may have, don't hesitate to call/text

Scott- you'll have a great time in Gatlinburg, provided you plan around the ginormous amount of tourists that will be there, lookylooin' at the leaves up in the mountains...
You'll actually be a fairly short distance with nice twisty roads from the Dragon. I'd advise to come/go out of the back side of Gatlinburg on River Road (IIRC hwy 73?), turning right at Sugarlands and heading towards Townsend TN- then from Townsend, a hop over to Foothills Parkway, then voila- you'll be on 129 at the lake!
Whatever you do, try to AVOID Pigeon Forge and Wear's Valley (321) in Sevier County. HAAATE that traffic!
I guess you've locked down your plans for lodging- on a great set of backroads between Sevier/Blount counties, there's a property called "Brother's Cove"- gorgeous cabin rentals that look like Skyhook must've brought them in! I live 20-30 minutes away and still would like to go back to rent there someday... the roads in and out are 98% unknown to tourists. |

Hey there Todd- post up the riding itinerary for the days you'll be here if you can, and see about coordinating with Reepicheep, as he's planning on riding through too. And, let everyone know to pack some rain gear, there's up to 50% chance of rain... if it rains be EXTRA careful in the twisties, there WILL be wet leaves and such down!

I'll find out tomorrow if my plans just got exploded or not... (Kid #2 broke same ankle bone for the third time in a year and will probably need to get a screw put in... depends on when they can schedule surgery to see if my trip is still a go). |
