What kind of charging system does that engine have? Do banshees even have lights? |

Banshees have lights but no battery and it is an AC system. As part of my wiring checklist I have to float the ground on the stator to convert it to DC. Luckily my baja designs lights should draw less than the stock shee lights and the rest are LEDs. Similar output stator was used on the RZ350 street bike so I think I'll be fine. |

So the stock stator is grounded on one side? Interesting. I have been wanting to dual purpose my old KLX250 for some time. That has a 6V ac system too. |

Wiring, schematics, and electronics in general are a weak area for me. So I'm not sure how the stator is grounded, just that it is AC. Wish I had a better answer for you. I do know the Banshee is 12V. Luckily my brother is quite good with the things I just said I was bad with, so he will be helping on the wiring harness quite a bit. |

Here is a fully functioning throttle and a not quite bled yet Brembo full radial brake system with stainless lines!

Love the brake! Are you going to put on some kind of bark busters? That looks like a really dangly and exposed $300 part. |

Where did you put the reservoir? |

It's in the usual spot, right above the lever. I just didn't have it on when I snapped this. Reep. I am thinking about running some Rizoma lever guards like a GP bike. |

The front brake works now. The front sprocket is powdercoated the Ford Light Blue. The chain is on. The tranny is full of fluid. The radiator has a few pieces of hoses being fitted to it but you can't see it in this photo. (Message edited by gschuette on September 05, 2013) |

I love the look you gave the WR389X. It has a totally badass almost ahead of it's time appearance. Did you model the exaggerated up swept rear fender after any other style of bike? |

Thanks, I tend to agree with you although my bias may be showing. The stock WR has the muffler on the right side following the subframe up and the tool kit dangling off the left side of the subframe. By removing those two items it really freed up a lot of visual space under the seat. It looks more normal with a person sitting on it. I've had two people ask me about making them one and I would use a Buell XB lighting flyscreen on the next iteration. I have an idea I would like to try with that. |

I've had two people ask me about making then one"... H. Keerist please halp me if you work up a "kit" WR/RZ/Banshee... Not to be nosy, but what is your $$$ outlay so far in that monsterpiece? I know that the labor and ideas can't be issued a "pricetag", but... Somehow I'm thinking that you'll have it up and running well before HALLOWEEN... which would be proper. Hmmm- Blake, if I had to surmise "What Would Jesus Ride", he'd try out that thing. Curious why part of my intentional misspelling got censored... |

I haven't updated my spreadsheet in a while but last I checked I had sunk about what a new XB12 would have run in 2009 into the bike. Problem is, I've built a shop at the same time. So tools, electricity, consumables, etc have been a major cost. I don't think I'd make a kit but I would make someone a bike for the right price. I'd rather oversee the bike from start to finish and make sure it is done and works to my satisfaction. I'd also like to keep the idea somewhat special and rare, unlike an aluminum frame CR500. Not that those bikes aren't rare. It's just that you see them every now and then and their specialness has worn off. |

I've been powdercoating a few things in the Ford Light Blue. I also did the cap and bottoms of the carb. I sandblasted the carb body and will mask it off and powdercoat it semi-flat tomorrow. Then I can jet and rebuild the carbs. You can also see the ohmmeter that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that wiring work is being done. |

Man, oh mannn- such a pretty machine to look at, with all the powdercoated bits... just imagine the day when all that prettiness will be coated with a mixture of 2smoke exhaust and burnt rubber!!!! Glad to see the ohmmeter, that renews my faith in the monster coming to life. I suggest you plan a BBQ for the birth of this thing, with a whole hog ready to go once a hot burnout ignites the pit! Why not make it into a hooliganpalooza event?!?!? Also: Do you have a good plastic surgeon on retainer to help you deal with SERIOUS permagrin? You can't live your life like that, man. |

I was thinking of having some people over to the shop for an unveiling party in the spring at the shop. It will give me time to work the bugs out and make it look tip top over the winter. I have a friend who does the one man band gig. I think it'd be cool to have him come play some tunes. Here is a vid I took of him last December. Most of his stuff is original but I love his Bowie covers. http://youtu.be/D8cZ1UqS9xE?t=21s |

Entering the home stretch. I'm about to leave the shop to go find a suitable overflow tank. If I find one the cooling system wil be fully operational. It has what I believe to be a nice, rich, baseline jets in the carbs, carbs are rebuilt. I made a bracket to hold the speedo sensor. It looks better and awesome in person. Phone flash ruins everything, then without it phone camera picks up zero detail. I'll get some real pics later this weekend. The wiring is getting close. If all goes well it should be running in time to celebrate two stroke Tuesday on Twitter. Wish me luck!

"BAW BAW-CHICACHICAAA MMMmmmm BAW BAW... OHHHHHH YEAAAHHHHH!!!!" I was thinking about you the other day wondering how things were going. I still say that thing needs some Rat Fink touches, certainly some bleeding eyeball headlights... IMHO. Truly, that's a beauty AND most certainly a BEAST. I'll roll your direction when the day comes to witness this thing, and buy you a beer! |

Oh- check the rust on some of those allen heads, mebbe do a itsy hose clamp instead of that electrical tape, and trim the excess off of the hose clamps already deployed. Still, looks MAHVELOUS. |

Check the wheel photo. I already sandblasted and powdercoated those rusty heads Ford Light Blue. I nicked the speedo sensor with a grinder and it doesn't work. The tape is just to keep all the wires together until the new one arrives. I just ordered a new one and it will look nice and clean again once it arrives. |
