by law - you are required to report your insurance enrollment for the year by June 1 - failure to do so - will result in a fine; you will notice this is already past the April 15 deadline and the January 1 open enrollment line - fines will be retroactive back to the original day for interest and penalties.
Look in your pocket - the government wants your cash, failing that - they want your vote to continue to use their power to steal cash from the other half of society.
Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.
Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four. ... "I was laughing at Boehner -- until the mail came today," Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.
"I really don't like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family's pocket each year, that's otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy."
Both Vinson and Waschura have adjusted gross incomes greater than four times the federal poverty level -- the cutoff for a tax credit. And while both said they anticipated their rates would go up, they didn't realize they would rise so much.
"Of course, I want people to have health care," Vinson said. "I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."
I wonder who they thought would be paying for this turd?
While the younger Henderson claims he signed up for “affordable” insurance via the exchanges, his initial statements to the Washington Post seemed to imply he felt his coverage was too expensive. ... Chad couldn't even keep his story straight while talking to Kliff:
On the creepy head Uncle Sam meme This is what I sent into the org that is running those ads as a promo to my in-depth understanding of the bill, its' regulations, and the policies that have thus far been built on it (and it is a f'n full time job to keep on the paper they produce.... SEVEN m'f-n FEET of it)
Ah, the American Dream (play music http://youtu.be/_RM7cQCC4sU ) A portrait of the American Gothic of new Suburbia Husband, Wife (mid forties) one boy to college age, one girl in jr high age In front of a midsize house with a SOLD sign in front of it A large SUV or Mini Van in drive way and of course the white picket fence
Text: The American Dream.... A house A full time job A college education for kids A secure retirement And a promise to do better than the generation before
Cue Creepy Head UnKle Sam ObamaCare will cost the average family of four 200K in ten years - the same price of the median American home (census data @ 2010 levels & IRS July 2012 Public Release Statement of premium for 'silver' plan) Leading Corporations are dropping full time employement positions (walmart, UPS, Home Depot etc) Leading Corporations are dropping retirement options for tenured workers ObamaCare is granting scholarships and amnesty to illegals so that they can recieve instate tuition - see California This generation will pay for the largesse of the Baby Boom (in the background Creepy Head UnKle Sam is pulling down sold sign, and kicking over the fake facade of the stage front house)
Get Government out of Health Care - Get Government out of your Destiny.
It's a little bit sour grapes and schadenfreude so I have my doubts as to the effectiveness.
How about this for a refinement?
The House passes a "clean" CR. With one and only one condition. It's the last CR. If there isn't a "normal, legal" budget sent by the House to the Senate on time as required BY EXISTING LAW ( it's the Law Of The Land, Right? ) or the Senate refuses to vote on it, Congress and their staffers lose all pay. All perks, the cafeteria shuts down, and they walk home. No more plane rides, not more cars, diddle.
Now that's a pipe dream, but at least the Congressional Obamacare subsidy made specifically illegal? Some futile gesture? Come on!!!
That would Be Great PR for the R's.
THEN, when the Debt Ceiling kicks next/this week, hit them with the NO Exemptions play, and make a freaking huge point about How Much in Campaign Funds Obama got from those groups with exemptions. The R's frankly suck at this stuff, they have to point to provable corruption in the process, even if it means they won't be able to sidle up to the same hog trough.
Opinions? I certainly could be wrong on how to play this game.....
oh my goodness - she has not read her own bill - it is NOT Small Businesses under 50; but those with over 30 full time 'equivalents' with less than 50 individual entities on the payroll as a full time employees..... so if you have 50+ H1B visa interns ?..... yep - exempt.
So you could never 'shop' prior to this year before for policies or doctors ?.... You would think that a former Insurance commissioner that enforces rules against agencies, brokers, and companies would know better than that - but apparently it is a happy lie she is able to get away with.
One Bus hit away from inordinate costs of a hospital bills..... except who drove the bus? ANY insurance company in health care is going to defer to commercial property / casualty coverage and the liability of suing the entity as an owner of that bus, they will deny, delay, defer, and litigate at every instance to do so - and they will win.
If you have 'health' apps on your phone - expect a new DME (medical device / app) tax to your cell phone - look for it soon.
EMTALA - the required care in an Emergency Room - ..... will fail when ERs decertify from a Level III trauma facility - Seattle has lost 3 such facilities since the Reforms of our version of ACA - there is only one 'community' emergency hospital in the region - HarborZoo - and it is called such by anyone that has worked or stayed there ..... DAMHIK
They have no greater goal than the end of the market and free economy and market driven initiatives.
It's not INSURANCE for the love of f'n all that is sane.
brought to you by a Mad pain in the A%% that has READ the m'f-n bill.
Are YOU going to submit YOUR personal data to this damaged website? Step right up hackers, to this goldmine of identity theft. How's it going to the several Badweb supporters of ACA?
Buellkowski, You are a supporter of ACA. How is your experience with access, benefit level, and benefit cost?
I would guess that Buellkowski has ducked out of this thread after delivering his 2 cents. Unfortunate. I've also called on Froggy to give details on his experience. I understand that Froggy uses technology to keep up with when he is paged around here. Just ignoring the questions???
Yeah, it smells like another Fling-and-Run which seems to be the trademark of Liberals who succumb to emotion rather than arguing with facts and logic.
I don't include Froggy in that description because he is an intelligent fart smeller.
for those of you that ride motorcycles ... and wish to buy a new one - or finance an additional one Remember that it is typically $20 a month for every 1000 that you finance..... So a new Sporty (883) Will put you about 180-200 a month....
This government just raped you out of a new bike or car depending upon your credit and budget. be sure to remember a democrat at the ballot box and the next time you look at your account an realize this bill just cost you at least one motorcycle in your garage.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I ditched this thread when it shifted from being about the website to about politics. I clicked the wrong link and ended up here again unintentionally, but since I saw you looking for me I read the posts on this page.
I did not make an account, all I did was browse some pages and fired up the web chat like Xdigitalx mentioned, it worked for me without issue, I just tried it again without issue.
I can only be "paged" in the title of the thread. I tried setting up filters to alert me if I am mentioned in a post, but due to the way emails from Badweb work I never could get it to work right.
Thanks for the info, Froggy. The government is not sharing information with its citizens about ACA. I have tried to get on the site but it usually takes half an hour. I am not purchasing but it seems like insurance is more expensive now, even if it is anecdotal evidence.
So when you say everything is working, that didn't include actually being able to log in and do anything. I've been unable to log in EVER. It took many attempts to get as far as creating an account that doesn't work. This is a huge failure. I can't wait to see how the actual health care part works out. The website should have been the easy part.
I refuse to waste my time even looking at the website.
For NOW, my employer is still covering me and my family. The owners are good people who reinvest profits into the company, and I feel strongly that they will do everything in their power to maintain the coverage.
HOWEVER, it has been made plain that we will be rolling with the punches. If it becomes too burdensome for the company, we will be dropping it, and SOME of the money that the company contributed will make it's way into my pay check or maybe a flex account.
I'm very interested to see how Kaiser Permanente will change in the next two years in terms of deductibles and services provided.
I'm the kind of person who really only goes to the doctor if I'm injured or if my wife makes me go.
