Looks a bit sappy for my taste. Put it up on the big screen in HD. http://vimeo.com/75545684 |

Maybe a little sappy, but the time is way past due for another motorcycle movie with the appeal of Bruce Brown's "On Any Sunday." Looks like "Why We Ride" may have the potential to get more people on two wheels, and not just one brand of two wheels or one kind of riding, either. Thanks for posting. Just leaving DC after the excitement this afternoon and needed something to cheer me up. |

So my Supervisor Asked Me that Once, so I told him... "If I had to Explain it to You, You Wouldn't Understand." When I Asked him what he liked to do, his aspirations in life he said WORK! Lost my Job one month later. |

Elsinore, I was watching the excitement on TV. How does someone get in a car chase from 15th NW all the way to the 3rd without getting stuck in traffic? Might it be the lack of traffic because of furloughs? I work in Ellicott City MD. Business has been awful all week and normally I'm busy the first of the month. |

It's a bit strange to make a movie about motorcyclists that has mainly motorcyclists as a demographic, on a subject that needs no explanation |

Jb2, "It's Better In the Wind" is a great short film. Lots of scenes took me back in time. Hope to see more riding films from Scott Toepfer in the future. Really looking forward to seeing "Why We Ride," though. I'm on their email list for updates on whether it'll come to theaters around this area. On the subject of motorcycle films, I consider "World's Fastest Indian" a must-see, one that non-riders can enjoy as well. Anyone see "Best Bar in America" yet, by chance? Mark Hoyer mentioned it in the latest Cycle World, said it was a good riding movie. Like "World's Fastest Indian," I get the impression it's a movie set around riding, not a movie about the act of riding in and of itself. |

Jb2 Thanks for the post. I really needed that dose of armchair adventure. 'Haven't been able to ride for two weeks...bum shoulder. |

Elsinore 74 & Bolthead, Hey you're welcome and glad it gave ya some warm-fuzzies. I really dig the film... must of watched it a hundred times easily. Really dig the original soundtrack by Chuck Ragan. I've become a fan of him through the film. Life really is better in the wind. JB2 |

Krabykarl, I watched the trailer and thought much the same... kinda. I get pretty passionate about riding so... Anyways, I get a call from Dave Barr two weeks before Christmas. He's asking me if I ever heard of the film and I say I did but can't remember where. He's says order one from Amazon and you'll never regret it. So I did. Come to find out he's featured in a segment that leads in with Ted Simon about world travel. Dave's segment follows Ted's and then there's a short take of him and his daughter riding in Kern River Valley. The film honestly rocks. I'm the guy who despises TV's, movies, and those brain sucking devises that everyone is glued to. I've watched it three times this evening. WTF? I was going to call Dave and thank him when I remembered who told me first... THANKS! |
