OK guys, TWO has been resurrected/reborn as Two Wheels of Suches and appears to be doing well. http://www.twowheelsofsuches.com/ EBR should have 2014 production bikes out by mid-October (AIMexpo is 16-20 October). Are we having a Buelltoberfest or what? Come to think of it, maybe it should be EBRfest ("E-ber-fest"). What say ye, fellow Badwebbers?  | ||

well i plan on being down there 4th,5th,6th(maybe heading out on the 6th) and maybe showing up sometime the 3rd??? how was it before? were we usually riding all day friday saturday or what? i really cant remember or was most everyone there thursday also? seems like everyone usually scattered sunday though. and most of the time some of us rented a cabin, but i dont know that there will be enough guaranteed turnout to manage that this time? there is also the copperhead place if i remember right? | ||

Yea, Copperhead Lodge is due west of Blairsville, and it's a nice place to stay. Only drawback is it's ~26 miles from Suches. They rent cabins, rooms, and 8 beds in the "bunkhouse", which is about as cheap as camping. Their restaurant is open for supper during the week and all three meals during the weekend. http://www.thelodgeatcopperhead.com/ The former TWO, now Two Wheels of Suches is apparently fully up-to-speed. Campground and bathhouse are open, and they have some rooms for rent: http://www.twowheelsofsuches.com/ Their site does say the restaurant is not open for supper though (breakfast and lunch only). | ||

And supper would be the main meal most people are there for.... hmm that would have to be figured out. | ||

The people at Skeenah Camp Ground were quite good people. Although a good ways north of Suches, not a bad ride there. I have never camped at TWO, and sure wouldn't mind. Theres always cooking dinner over a fire.  I'm not sure I'll be able to make it down the weekend of the 4th, 5th, or 6th. If we are able to make it down, it will be the weekend after, or later. Needless to say, I sure would love to have some fellow buell folk to cruise the mountains with. | ||

 Ya know- I'd sure love a chance to ride the R75/7 down there and commune with some good folks... I'd also love to see what TWO has become, and camp out for a couple of days. BUMP!!! Also, anyone who can do so, please cross-post from the Storm Fronts, so we can coordinate. Given that it's 9/11/13, we're looking at kinda short notice, but I MIGHT be able to sschwiing it. | ||

I will be down there 10/9 through the 10/13. I know it will be me an my lady. Theres a possibility of a few other guys from indy coming with me I think. Still deciding where to camp. Whats the bathhouse at TWOs like? | ||

The Bathhouse was still under construction when I was there last but it's been finished so everything is brand new, should be nice. It was concrete block construction so would be a good place to hide out in a major storm! The folks running it seemed real nice too, looking forward to checking it out! | ||

Due to business concerns and such I have become totally worthless at predicting my ability to go anywhere. Heck I just missed going with the wife and daughter to a fair tonight because of what I was unable to get done today.  I'll say this.....I REALLY WANNA GO!!  | ||

Vern- don't sweat missing the fair too much, we were gonna go but heard that it isn't all that great this year- bummer, 'cause I love a good fair! Got spoiled growing up with the State Fair in Nashville I guess... We should talk soon about getting down there to Suches... here lately I've been seriously considering it. Or, if not that, then the Barber Vintage Days would be super kewl too... I'll give you a holler in a day or so. | ||

Well from the look of things it sounds like an "official" Buelltoberfest is a bust. I just got word that some friends from Florida want to meet up at my friends in Georgia and do some camping so I think I'll let the Uly sit this one out and take the Geezerglide for a long ride and hook up with the Florida folks. I'll stop by TWO and see who shows up, maybe pitch a tent for a night. Sounds like it's going to be one of those, "play it by ear" type vacations which is not a bad thing! | ||

Organizing a meet like this is like herding cats (DAMHIK). Maybe when EBR hits full production we'll get some more enthusiasm back in the group. Who knows, maybe they'll have a demo truck in time for March Badness 2014? | ||

yep its been a pretty scattered attempt... sounds like maybe some will show, but then again maybe some wont... hell now it sounds like i may be headed that way on the 29th dragging a moving trailer with my truck to nashville to help my sister move back down there... but if that happens the bike will be in the back of the truck and i will drop the truck and trailer and disappear on the bike! so what that means is... BASICALLY I HAVE NOW DAMN IDEA WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!! ugh. | ||

Tim- check out the Nashville Scene for some R&R after the work... LOTS of cool places and things going on. I grew up there, but I'd have to pretend to be a tourist to take all the new stuff in since 1990. | ||

Hey Greg!  What day are you planning to hit TWO for the night ? Tim it sounds like you have the same problem I do.....hitting a moving target from a moving vehicle in a wind storm after dark! Making the decision isn't hard, just figuring out when it will work is.  | ||

Tim, are you talking about this weekend? If so, the Unknown Hinson will be at the Shed Saturday the 28th- GREAT show it will be, someday everyone should see that guy. I'll be staining my deck Sunday and Monday, but will be staying tuned to any potential convoys down to Suches over the course of October. I'm always off on Sundays and Mondays... |
