Very interesting. October 16 is the first day of the AIMExpo motorcycle trade show in Orlando. EBR's supposed to be there, and they've announced they're hosting their dealers there as well. It's also 4 years to the day since the Buell closure announcement. Seems like a good bet the new EBR model(s) will be introduced on that day. |

As they were packing up at the end of the day on Sunday I finally had a chance to speak to Erik. I told him I was anxiously awaiting the day there was something AFFORDABLE with his name on it again. He smiled and said: "We're working on it!" |

Jaimec- I posted your photo to EBR's Facebook page along with the known info about the date (I hope you don't mind). So far, it's up to 45 "likes". I think there's a LOT of interest in what EBR is up to. (Message edited by Hughlysses on September 17, 2013) |

A few minutes ago, I e-mailed one of the two places advertising themselves as EBR dealers in my home state and asked about EBR at the AIM Expo. I got an immediate response assuring me it would be WELL worth making the drive to Orlando if I want to see something new. |

Tq_freak- Apparently the 16th & 17th are not open to the public; I guess it must be for dealers and manufacturers only. |

Yea, from the webpage: "Dedicated days for trade/press open the show. Both motorcycle dealers and the press will see new products for the first time, and while dealers are ordering for the upcoming season, press is building excitement among consumers for all that’s new. Effective! Within 48 hours of the first announcements in the press, the show opens for 3 premiere days to Excited consumers." but its only open 4-9 on Friday for consumers then all day Sat.& Sun. I was thinking about doing a "work related" trip but those hours kinda put a hinky on that. There will be a ton of pics on Badweb and everywhere else. Save my $$ for the purchase.... |

Court did another "ninja" post on this thread a few minutes ago. Let's just say he confirmed exciting things will be happening at the show, and mentioned that some info might actually leak out before the 16th. It stands to reason all the new stuff has to be loaded in to the building before the 16th, so who knows what somebody might see if they were standing around on Monday or Tuesday. |

Apparently, it's now official. Posted to Facebook by Motorcyclist Magazine about an hour ago:
quote:Just in from Erik Buell Racing: the firm's next new model, a derivation of the current 1190RS superbike, will be revealed on October 16 at the AIM Expo in Orlando, Florida. We'll be there to give you the first look at the new sportbike. Until then, here's what EBR says: "The new, street-legal high performance motorcycle carries EBR’s model designation 1190RX and is a direct descendant of EBR’s race-bred limited edition 1190RS Super Bike. While the 1190RX shares its sibling’s 1190cc engine and many of EBR’s exclusive performance and handling-enhancing features, it is a new design created to tame the wildest roads and rouse the most demanding riders. “This is the culmination of decades of dedication, innovation and teamwork,” said EBR founder Erik Buell. “We have been working to create a pure rider’s machine and a true world brand. From the heartland and the heart of America, these are extraordinary motorcycles that discerning riders everywhere will be passionate to own.”

OK, EBR just posted a press release repeating all the above on Facebook. I found this interesting:
quote:"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 16, 2013 Contact: Gary Pietruszewski Vice President Global Sales, EBR (262) 642-1627, x-298 gary.pietruszewski@ebracing.com EBR to unveil new American sport bike at AIMExpo in Orlando...
I googled Gary Pietruszewski, and came up with 2 or 3 guys by that name, and one of them is listed as "VP Sales & Dealer Development at Piaggio Group Americas". I'm guessing EBR made him an offer he couldn't refuse? Sure sounds like they're stepping up their game. |

So they are bringing in top talent. A couple of items I find interesting.... Court's post awhile back of belt in.. hold on.. Then I notice that EBR has a 40 ft x 50 ft booth at AIME... That's a mighty big booth to only display one bike. I'm thinking, (hoping) that there will be the SX and AX, and maybe some concept bikes? |
