Nice ride, really nice colour scheme. I have considered going to the dark side, I still have this masochistic desire for a Sportster as a city bike, but need to sell the 1125R first. |

Mark- how'd the Yammie do for ya? Years ago I had an FZ700, 2nd year bike with the Genesis 5 valve motor- LOVED that thing. Wish I still had it. |

The Yamaha was crazy fun. Hit 60 in first gear before it gets to the red line. I saw 121 on the speedo and then my testicles reminded me I was on a public road. Cruise control, heated grips, adjust on the fly windshield. The negs, saddlebags were a little small, It has a weird tip into the corner feel that would take some time to get used to. I think a tire change would fix that. The farkles I would do. Heavier bar ends Cee Baileys taller windscreen, dark tent some kind of detachable tour pack Helibar risers Frame sliders Maybe highway pegs just to move my feet around on a long haul |

I used to have the FJRs older brother, an FJ1200 in no way could you call it a scratcher but as a high speed mile muncher it was brilliant (if thirsty). I fitted a 4-1 Remus & when it hit the cam at about 6000rpm that baby WAILED & you hung on for dear life, it's limitaion was basically a weak front end. I've seen the Gendarmerie throwing their FJRs around, over here & they seem to handle pretty well, I'd most likely reach my limit before the bike's. Anyway what's not to like? Comfort & Yam reliability with a shaft, power & decent handling. |

Like Mr. Grumpy I had a 92FJ. 130 laying on the tank in 3rd gear and better slow down for the world is turning into a tunnel. A little to heavy for my (at the time and sure ain't no more) 150lbs. Corbin seat, taller windscreen and 500 mile days were a cinch. When the FJR came out I was very tempted but to me it looked to Goldwingy. Bought a Uly with big bags and now I'm on a new adventure. |

That's a latter gen Connie... if it's been properly farkled, work the $$$ against book value and decide. IIRC, new Sportster 1200's sell for about the same. I've found that the big 4 each have different approaches to engineering a task... |

One man's interstate rocket is another man's backroad scalpel. Beware the man who only owns one rifle; he likely knows how to use it. BTW, very nice buy on the Dyna Low Rider, Badlionsfan. It looks like a buyers' market out there. |

It looks like a buyers' market out there. It's always a buyers market for used HD's. HDFS finances people who should never get approved - lots of bikes are lost by default on loans. Lots of bikes get bought...ridden once or twice to the bar for a poker run...and parked to rot. And quite frankly...lots of buyers realize the "ultimate motorcycle" HD...isn't. They're caught up in the image, and the propaganda, and they buy after a short demo...and realize it's not what they were looking/hoping for in a motorcycle. People are learning that there are a LOT of "better" (choose your perspective) motorcycles on the market. That, combined with HD's over-production and super-saturation of the market...there's lotsa used HD's out there for the taking. Guy A won't come to your price? Drive another 25 miles to Guy B. They're everywhere. They're not all hateful bikes. Just...not always up to the propaganda. I'll probably have another police FL before I hang up my leathers, and if I find the right VRSCR I'll be all over it. And the FXD family is a strong one - good chassis, decent power-to-weight, nice rides. The "little big twin". |

Took the gf out on a nice 200 mile ride today down to the Ohio river and back. She's never been on a bike before I got this one, and she loves it. I've put almost 800 miles on this thing since I got it and I really like it. Very comfortable riding position and seat. Great for 2 up riding; first bike I've had that having a passenger doesn't effect my comfort/ riding position. I'm getting a little pulsing from the front brake. I think the rotor might be warped. When I get new tires this spring I'll put a new rotor on and upgrade the pads. Here's a list of upgrades/ ad-ons I'm planning over the course of time-- -Saddle bags and a locking trunk so I can use this thing for a pick up truck. - upgrade the rear shocks/springs -progressive springs and race tech emulator in the forks. -Some kind of fork brace. -True track stabilizer kit. -some kind of windshield or fairing for the longer rides if I find one I like. This bike kinda reminds me of my beloved Bonneville. It does everything I want good. Around town puttin around, commuting to work (will be better with luggage), and all day rides. It's pretty much what I expected, no disappointments so far. |

"Saddle bags and a locking trunk so I can use this thing for a pick up truck." I've a bad habit of going out to the grocery outlet on the Beemer (they usually have LOTS of great stuff for cheep $$$), and buying ALMOST too much stuff to carry back home. Yesterday beat them all- I had to stop at the auto parts store to get oil change stuff for 2 cars first. Luckily I have an extra large milk crate affixed to my rear rack... that along with some creative bungee deployment got me home! I like being a moto-goober. Normal people make me laugh. |
