Well, I know we have a couple gearheads here on Badweb... My friend Pat won the GRM 2012 challenge last year with his Aries turbo K car. He's out on tour right now with his Shadow turbo. For those not familiar with the Hot Rod Drag Week, it's a week of racing all over the country...and you have to DRIVE your race car from race to race with no major changes. Not trailer it. DRIVE it. Street legal car, lights, mirrors, wipers, tags. Few thousand miles of driving; a week's worth of drag racing. Pat's car:
And a couple of his timeslips:

Just read on facebook he's made it to the final 32. Front wheel drive. 4 cylinder turbo. 5 speed manual transmission. And when he's home...he actually does drive it to work. I gotta get off my ass and get one of mine back together....damn bikes, took me away from my car hobby! |

Patches, Thank you, this can go with the Bedsheets a relative sent me from Europe. Love the turbo Shadow. I knew the guys who were running a Omni Turbo in the One Lap, and did pretty good for a low budget team. They took the engine out of the builder's car, and bolted it into a 84-85 car welded together from his brother's & sister's crashed Omnis. Ran that car with improvement's for years. Fun stuff. Can't seem to post the url, but the file name on Wiki is. Dodge Omni GLH 91 race car.jpg |
