Xb1125r's comment may reflect a disappointment in the actions vs. words of many politicians. They talk up patriotism and tolerance a few times a year, when expected, but often act the opposite of those rare good words. Also, "taken down" by idiots isn't that wrong a view. The Culture they come from hasn't contributed anything useful to the world since the Mullahs in the 14th century decided things were getting way too lax and dragged a big part of the planet back to the good old days of the 8th century. The leader of the 9/11 attack was possibly the only genius AQ had, and the bulk of the hijackers were lied to, and believed they were going to hold hostages to get their buddies out of prison, not martyr themselves into buildings as suicide bombers. So, technically not idiots, but victims of their own boss. ( it helped that they were ignorant, but ignorant & idiot are not the same thing. Ignorance can be cured, stupid cannot ) Osama bragged about this, and laughed at the fools, on video, shortly after the attack. ( I've often thought that footaqe should have been the key of our information campaign against the Jihadi. "Die for the aristocrats who lie to you? Sucker" ) The complaint about the 3 loads of passengers that did not revolt is unfair. As many have noted, SOP was to cooperate, and those 3 plane loads died ignorant of their fate except for the pilots. We can argue about the SOP, but it hasn't changed, even in the light of the War on the West ongoing..... So "taken down" by idiots has a certain truth to it. Unfortunately the idiots and cowards are in power in government, not passengers on a plane. So he has it partially right. Or maybe he's just trolling, a lack of response may indicate a "liberal media hit and run" approach to conversation. You know, idiots. |

BTW, XB1125r's post at 09:35 am: ( 3rd post ) is one I am in complete agreement with. Somewhat like the thread about getting robbed as a store clerk, you can argue that cooperating with the bad guys is safer than fighting. It's a flawed argument, based on psychological "mirroring". One believes that others think and want what you do. Often not the case, unless you want to buy crack and don't care who you kill until the noise in your head goes away, too. ( or impose your religion on the planet if you have to murder or enslave every single human being on it ) |

finally, we had so many cowards does not, IMHO apply to the passengers, but certainly to the government, and specifically William Jefferson Clinton who stopped the take down of Osama Bin Laden for political reasons, and Sandy "down the Pants" Berger who stole documents from the archives to cover that up. I welcome feedback. |

http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&mpid=80 Matt Damon breaks up with Obama. Profound thought in there. "The Left want's the Right to shut up, The Right want's the Left to keep talking." |

It's a flawed argument, based on psychological "mirroring". One believes that others think and want what you do. I find that to be the case with so many liberals. They don't understand that some people don't want to be helped, don't care and simply don't think like they do. |

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” –C.S. Lewis, "The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment", reprinted in "God in the Dock", Part III, Chapter 4, where it is said to have appeared originally in "20th Century: An Australian Quarterly Review," Vol. III, No. 3 (1949), pp. 5-12. |
