I'd forgotten about that mutation, good to see it's still in progress!
Keep on keepin on, and post up the vids once she comes alive! And, be sure to plan a trip down here to Mur-vil TN so I can test everything out for you... you know, I've got the Dragon and lots of other great "test" roads...
It occurred to me that the pipe location and chamber shape could allow for a "mirrored" image, each side, of that cool roadrunner with gritted teeth...
See if you can Photoshop that for shits and giggles!
No, just remembering one or a few different hot-rodder images... if you can protect against the heat of those chambers, they'd be a great place for some kind of artsy flair.
Oh man, that thing is wonderful. I'll wager it'll be scary in traffic with those chambers though.
I can't even imagine my old RM125 in a traffic situation. No torque below 6000 then the powerband comes on and there had better not be a tree or a turn in front of you.
That's it. They are pretty small and don't weigh much. They are solid as a rock. I'll keep a close eye on them just in case. The shape of the chambers getting smaller there seems to add some strength as well. Very stiff in all directions. If I start seeing cracks, bends, or catastrophic failure I'll change the design but I like the uncluttered look for now.
Looks great! If it does weaken, you could always turn that hanger into an upside down Y and get another mount point right at the front of the silencer.
Expansion chambers on a 2 stroke will all crack at the mounting points, sooner or later. If the chambers are not soft mounted, you might think about doing that in the future.
