I don't know about anybody else but having the photo of the murderer/ terrorist on the cover infuriates me. I am not from Boston, and did not know anyone who got injured. IMHO... they should have used a different photo. They say I should read the article and then I will understand but I do not read that magazine and 95% of every other person who sees this cover does not read the magazine either. So that means i should go buy it? Other peoples too?? Just so we understand WHY the photo was used??? Are u kidding me? Talk about tryin to prophet from a tragedy. I have lost all respect for anyone who approves of that cover photo.ugh. rant over. |

So, their feature article is about the guy, so they shouldn't use him on the cover? I'm sure if the featured article was about OJ, Bin Laden, or Hitler, they would use a picture of them too. I really don't see what is infuriating about a photo, especially when it is just a harmless photo of his face. |

I agree with X on this one, unless they give away the magazine all I see is an angle it pisses me off completely. |

It's because the shot makes him look hip, trendy, and somewhat glamorous. If they had used a mug shot, there wouldn't be an issue. But they didn't, which, frankly does not surprise me. That's just who RS is these days. |

I don't read the RS so its no big deal. I do how ever understand the Bostonian ire on the subject, there was an alternate cover that would have been much better, They wanted some attention, probably not what they are getting, 3 dead at the hand of this man and his brother, hundreds maimed, Give him his trial, then if and when he is found guilty ... I hope that he gets the death penalty.... BTW NSA are you watching the Kooks who are "supporting" him? you have some potential wannabees there......... Oh yeah your are busy trying to find a zimmerman writes violation so you can lynch an innocent man........ disgusting |

Looks like the same pic that was in the newspapers, and the beloved chukie manson was on the cover once. What should they do if they want to do a report on him?put a sack over his head with a couple of armed guards beside him,oh wait thats already been done |

No Froggy, I don't. The pic of Manson is not a "glamor shot" by any stretch of the imagination. Yes really. They are extremely Progressive. |

Freedom of the press. I do think he looks like a nice young man in that picture and not a terrorist/mass murderer type. Does sort of give the sick minds the hope of getting on the cover of the rollin stone if they do something big and bad enough. |

"I do think he looks like a nice young man in that picture and not a terrorist/mass murderer type." And that is exactly the point. Their article is designed to generate sympathy for the poor your man who had his life ruined through no fault of his own. Bull shit. |

The Rolling stone is close to folding along with the Village Voice and the entire left wing media Sad now we will have to buy bird cage liners and cheap paint protection Some of the news paper guilds are stating if the paper is sold to the Koch brothers over half will quit We really don't see the problem lol |

It has only been 3 freaking months!!! This was completely disrespectful. Just using the typed words "Bomber etc etc..." as it is shown, with "A N Y" other photo would have been a more clever (and respectful) way to SELL that story to the public. Seems like they knew it would piss people off but did it anyways. 1970 was a LONG freakin time ago. But don't just think about how YOU feel about the photo, think about how EVERY other kid like him (potential murderer/terrorist) in the USA that see's the cover photo... what would they be thinking. Couldn't this be reverse bullying? I would sue the ***** out of them if I could. Same way they are all gonna try and sue Zimmerman. |

The Manson cover is the same. A commercial money-grubbing corporation glorifying a murderer, peddling salacious titillation for profit. |

Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, etc... ARE CRAP PUBLICATIONS, AND ARE A BUSINESS TRYING TO SELL MAGAZINES AND ADVERTISING. They have no real value as a source of news. Anybody who buys them gets exactly what they pay for. A handful, eye full, and head full of crap. |

I'll second that Mr. Pwnzor. I'm from the Boston area and I did not like it for the reasons Ninefortheroad said... "Does sort of give the sick minds the hope of getting on the cover of the rollin stone if they do something big and bad enough." Those magazines are HEAVILY biased in their "reporting" and I would not even use them to wipe my a@# with. |

The theory behind the photo and article is that he IS a "standard American kid" on the outside but he and his brother and whoever else still did what they did. The goal of the article is to get "us" to look closely at everyone, because in the words of (I think) Donny Deutsch on Today yesterday morning..."they're not all wearing turbans". Does it help them sell magazines and get publicity? Sure. Does it get people talking about the topic and thinking about what's actually going on in the world and in their own neighborhoods and hopefully stop some of the self-absorbed, self-centered me-me-me attitude we have these days? Maybe. Do I like it? Not particularly. But I don't like that he killed and maimed people either. Personally I'd have used his booking shot and not his personal photo from Facebook or wherever they got it. Is there a chance that "normal kids" will glamorize him because of this? Yes...but...that's kinda the point they're trying to make. Parents need to pay attention. Teachers. LEOs. ALL of us - we need to pay attention to our surroundings. Our neighborhoods. Our nation. Look beyond our iPad and our cell phones and start giving a shit again. Because its here. Its real. And it looks just like the rest of us. Just like our own kid. Its a child, not a tax writeoff. Parents need to be PARENTS again. You made him or her...now RAISE them instead of shuffling them off to the internet and PlayStation and whatever the easiest outlet is for you so you don't have to worry about it. And maybe by giving up that office party so we can be parents and spend time with our kids...we keep the next one from happening. |

sorry rat, that BS imho. Complete BS. (edit: What I mean is,.. we do not need that article to realize what you are stating) That article will help no one. It is Un-needed and it opens raw wounds. BUT,...if "they're not all wearing turbans"... that means the NSA, TSA and Patriot Act have the right idea and should continue doing as they see fit. Apparently we need something...because these things are becoming more common. School shootings. Bombs. The only difference is the TSA has made air travel safer...so the nuts are finding other soft targets. Did I say the article will help? No. Did I say that's their rationale for it? Yes. I agree with the rationale. I don't like the article or the photo but again, I don't like that people are dead. It starts at home. Don't argue with me over it on a message board. Go home and explain it to your kids. Your neighbors kids. The kids on your kids ball team. Your kids friends PARENTS. Its time to start some change. Change starts at home. |

I and the majority of other parents and neighbors do not need that article or photo to realize what is needed in the parenting of our kids or in society in general. It is completely un-necessary, very distasteful and disrespectful. It isn't helping anything... except rolin stonn magazine. but.. eh.. free speech. |

The photo doesn't mean anything. It's the bomber pre-bomb. It lends itself to the story itself which is how a dude becomes a dud. All the hubbub is brew-haha. Whatever. let's stay focused on the racist in chief, the IRS and Bengazi....oh, yeah and the AP snooping. |
