I see all kinds of wrong in this story. But police officers are not "soldiers". They may want to try a different angle.

Yeah it's pretty thin. But if there's any justice left to be had in this country, there will be multiple officers in jail and a court ordered revision in standing policy.

It may be thin but than again who knows. I would think the third amendment would offer broad protection against the forced quartering of any government employee trained in military tactics. There is no doubt our police are trained in military tactics and use military equipment, I'm not sure I see much of a difference between the police and military these days. And let's not forget the US Gov. has declared US citizens who are engaged in operations against the US are enemy combatants (soldiers), even though they are not part of a nation state military. Why should police who are terrorizing citizens in their own homes be viewed any different.

This bothers me even more. To think they could have been shot over this.

Cops behaving badly, and unfortunately, there's too many to list. Don't know if there was a thread made about this or if ya'll already know, but there was a roadside cavity search done by a Texas Trooper last year, all caught on dash cam, and all for suspicion of marijuana.
