I've been running up to the North East of Switzerland a lot these last few weeks to a plant which is right next to Lake Konstanz & the Austrian border, with Germany just across the water.
Coming out on Thursday last week this was flying overhead. You can get some idea of scale from the windows on the gondola, all I can say is it looked f'ing big from the ground.
Pity that the Hindenburg's fire on film ruined the whole Dirigible Flight business.
Consider, more than twice as fast as an ocean liner, pretty decent comfort, and a view that very few pilots even today have of the world. ( the difference between sitting in a cockpit, and having picture windows.... ) For a couple of days.
