This is my young friend Gage...And he is the new, proud owner of the infamous S2 Thunderbolt called BLURR, once owned by Ferris Bueller. Gage now knows about BadWeb and when he gets a spare moment, will be getting himself registered and joining the family. Gage is a graduate of MMI and is a certified Yamaha Mechanic. He’s currently turning wrenches in a mom and pop auto repair shop but has hopes to one day, be working for EBR. His current ride is a 1975 Suzuki Water Buffalo, which he built from a box of parts. Its pretty cool to hear/watch him pull up on it. And his dream scooter is a Yamaha Kenny Roberts RD 350. There is a great passion for anything with two wheels in this young man. The Water Buffalo is a clear indication of that.  He’s been currently wrenching on my S3T Thunderbolt after work and with what little spare time he has. The S3 had a broken exhaust stud, with an easy out broke off in the stud (a so called mechanic did that). The S3 is the first V-Twin he’s ever worked on. And as of now, has the S3 all back together and running. He still has a few things he wants to address...One of them, he’s having a hard time getting the race header to seat properly on the rear cylinder. He’ll get it though. So if you all, could welcome him to the family, that would be really cool. He has a clean slate with the S2 frame, and I’m sure he would welcome any advise, suggestion’s or help with it. He’ll also be looking for parts, that will help bring BLURR back to life. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated I’m sure. Tungsten carbide dremel bits, bullet shaped works best. It will take 2 or 3 go get through the tap. And it will leave little razor blade spinters in your hands for a week. | ||

Young Master Gage: Welcome to the Dark Side. We've not met, but my buddy Corso (has he told you how we met? He walks up to me at the All-Harley drags in Woodburn, Oregon back in 1996, looks at the BLURR sitting there, and says, "Damn, dude, what the heck is THAT?!?) speaks so highly of you. I dig passionate people with their head screwed on straight, especially young passionate people with their head screwed on straight. Corso tells me you're all that and more. He pinged me a while back and asked what I thought about him "paying forward" the BLURR frame to you. Based on what he's told me about you, I can't think of a better person to carry on the legacy of this motorcycle. You've got your work cut out for you, to be sure, but BadWeB is infested (yeah, prolly not the greatest choice of words, but pretty close to the truth) with some of the finest people you'll ever meet, whether actually or virtually, and I know you'll make a lot of new friends here who will help you on this journey. I'll tell the tale of how the BLURR 'n me came to be one of these days. It was love at first sight, and that motorcycle sure opened up a new world for me. It wasn't always easy, but memories to last a lifetime, and friendships I wouldn't trade for gold. Welcome, young man; looking forward to meeting you. Yep, and two weeks later, I owned a brand new 1996 S1. And, made a friendship that will last a life time! Ferris use to have a really hard time with rear tires on BLURR. Especially when the AVONS first came out. | ||

I had a broken stud/easyout combo EDM'd out of an AJS transmission case. It was 1/4" I think, too tough to do with a dremel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_discharge_ machining | ||

Took this vid earlier today, when Gage stopped by on his scooter. Its sooooooo cool. I hear him way before he get's to the house. Notice the knobby on the rear wheel? There is a story to that, that almost cost him his eye. | ||

I have some misc bits, though it would make more of a Buell frankinbike than a true S2, since I have an S1 swingarm mounting block I couldn't bear to send to the metal recycler, and a a 99+ swingarm block brace thingy too... Welcome Gage, looking forward to getting to know you. | ||

Gage, 'Been following your story from behind the scenes. Corso and I have flat worn out the keyboards on another project and during that you and your story were the subject of several conversations. I think it's way cool that you have the fire. Even cooler that you've ended up with a piece of the Blurr and even cooler than that your nickname in High School was the Blurr. I'd only warn you that membership in this family means you'll have some pretty twisted friends but never a better group of friends will you ever meet.  Welcome to the insanity! JB2 | ||

Yeah, his 'Zook is a little loud, but he didn't grab a bunch of gears and warp outta there up on the pipe, even though he knew he was being filmed. My first bike was a '76 Water Buffalo that had been in a minor wreck. It was the first bike I ever stripped to the frame for restoration. It certainly was an unusual bike. Welcome to the Buell club! | ||

How muc of the Blur is left? What parts are needed to get it back on the road? Bluzer, what you see in the pic is all that's left - the frame. I roasted the engine one night coming home from Dr. Steve's place (oil pump drive gear went away), one thing led to another (unemployment, a "social upheaval" and a cross-country move being tops on the list), and by and by the engine, bodywork, and all the rest pretty much went away to the highest bidders. I hate to even think about it all, to be truthful, considering how much that motorcycle meant to me, but it is what it is. Gage has the frame and a clear title, and my old service and parts manuals. I *think* Corso might have gathered a few pieces over the years, but pretty much Gage is at step one of his journey. | ||

Blumz2: All that is left of BLURR is the Fairing Bracket, Frame and Starter. So gage will be looking for all kinds of parts. His dad offered up his '85 Honda 250R trike to be sold, so parts can be bought for Project BLURR (kind of catchy). Thought that was a pretty cool offer by his pop. I also have some Suoertrap parts and a few other misc. things for him hiding in my garage. FB1: See, I told ya he was a good kid! I'll have to give Gage a hard time about not getting registered over the weekend. I'll cut him a little slack though, since it was a long holiday weekend. And being a youngling, I'm sure he celebrated on a couple different occasions. | ||

Were any of the factory '96 S2 front fenders glass? All 1996 S2 front fenders were fiberglass, but were made with epoxy resin instead of the 1995 polyester resin (and obviously a slightly different design). The unpainted parts had a tan color to them rather than the partially visible glass weave that the polyester resin parts (or more typical glass parts) have. I looked for you this weekend at Heavy Rebel, were you in Winston? Lot's of great cars and bikes! Sure was! When I came back to the XT-BOLT there was a guy just starting his '97 S3 that was parked right next to me. He just took off without any interest in talking Buell's with me...oh well... There were some GREAT rides there, but then there was the cannibalized XB12R...definitely NOT great, with the hole cut in the frame to mount a carb...  But Winston-Salem was still FUN! 1313 | ||
