Holy crap- I just saw indications of a "phantom" post by Court in the "EBR & Buell in the News" forum. (A "phantom" post is where you see the last username to post in a thread, but when you go to that thread there's no post by that person, apparently because they deleted it right after they posted.) I do hope he'll chime in here and give us the lowdown, or at least as much as he can. (Message edited by Hughlysses on July 02, 2013) |

Another article: http://www.biztimes.com/article/20130702/ENEWSLETT ERS05/130709967 Highlights: "EBR will be adding more employees this year and next year to increase production at its 63,000-square-foot East Troy plant. Buell expects to begin production on the new line by the end of 2013. “We’ve already been ramping up,” he said. “We’re about 75 employees here now. We’ll be over 100 by late this year.” "EBR and Hero had been discussing the deal for a long time and the businesses complement each other well, Buell said. “Basically, we’d been looking for equity for some time,” he said. “We wanted to bring back full scale vehicle manufacturing. It absolutely had to be a minority stake … where I would stay in control.”

"Erik Buell Racing specializes in designing and manufacturing powerful and high-speed custom motorcycles." Huh? |

"Hero MotoCorp will have representations on the EBR board with two directors and one observer." That answers that. |

Wonder how many are on the board if it is 3 that is bad. If it is 5 that is better. If it is 7 or more not a problem. |

I would assume 49% stake would mean 49% representation plus a tie breaker at the minimum. |

>doesnt seem like his style get over it, its not all about a "big F-U to Harley" Nope, it ain't and you are correct. I was thinking more of the irony of situation... |

I hope this is fruitful. My resume is in with EBR. The winters can't be much worse than they are in Cleveland. |

Think they need an old carpenter for anything? |

Dan I think they need an old carpenter to do the same thing that they need an old aircraft mechanic to do buy a new motorcycle when they arrive on the dealer show room floors. (Message edited by 46champ on July 03, 2013) |
