This is picture an XR-750 motor kit on eBay. Never mind that harley doesn't supply the crank cases and the clutch with the kit..(for $10,000.00,buy it now)
What's up with the heads?

What do you mean? the extra spark plugs?

Looks like normal XR-750 heads to me.

Yup. Looks like all standard stuff to me. I was tempted to order one of those kits up when I worked at a dealer. An XR 750 street tracker would be the ultimate short range blaster.

My bad. I jumped the gun. The intake spigots "look" like some sort of steel exhaust pipe spigots.... that would be on the wrong side. I always thought they were aluminum. Apparently the new ones are of a steel flange and welded tube instead of this cast jobbie.

Cool listing and picture of the engine, none the less.....regardless that you still need a set of cases............

One of the most successful racing engines ever built. And one of the sexiest, too.
I was at a Half Mile (Hagerstown?) when Jay Springsteen took a prototype Suzuki TL engine
base tracker out for a couple of laps. He crashed. He said afterwards, "If that's the Future of Flat Track, I want no part of it."
If you want an experience that will make all the little hairs on the back of your neck and arms stand straight up, stand outside Turn 4 at the Springfield Mile when a pack of XRs goes by turning 9,000 RPM or so.

If it's a true "kit" you have unmachined blanks. Not just "some assembly required" but detailed machining.

They only shipped them assembled for easier shipping. They needed to be gone through even new.

Fun to ride.

Boy Crusty, you just brought back some memories! Nothing like watching Jay on a greasy track passing the guys in the groove on the outside of a corner in full lock slide! Springer doesn't need a groove!!

No, it's a footpeg with something black underneath.

Here are some of those parts used right on a 650cc Blast.

The best part of that is the C&J frame kit.

This is a cool alternative:

Those are regular heads on the XB - in fact that is all style and not much more - lol - this Blast in its final mutation - before hitting a British dirt track museum - where it now resides - also had OHC and netted 63hp. The most extreme Blast engine go to a Blast - a chopper - who did a full on stage 3 44 Mag Build - netted over 73 hp - the picture of that chopper is in the Thumper section.

Even in the most radical form...no B-last is setting the world a-flame.

Regular XB heads work quite well...and there's two of them. Bonus.

It's is a little more than a styling excersize. It's a dirt track inspired machine with a character that is all XB. I like it.

TP has said he'd take those LSR records that the XR bike holds using a B last - so your argument is invalid.

TP (whoever that is) can say anything he wants
but until he backs it up its only talk
thats what real racers do - race, not talk

The XR750 is likely the most refined and longest winning race bike in history.

It's been a target for very long time, and until someone finds a new formula for dirt, will continue to do so.

The Blast had its best chances on the 1/2 mile...in the rain

Didn't the RS750 rule for as long as Honda ran it?
