Ok, time to put political banter and engineering aside to have some fun. This thread is about what else you have that's fun in the garage. It can be 4x4s, cars, ATVs, boats, sleds, etc. The only rule is NO motorcycles! The only person exempt from the rule is Froggy because last time I checked he only had two-wheelers. And give details! I'll go first. 2005 GTO 6-speed, midnight blue, long tube headers, LS3 heads, Stainless Works exhaust. Love it! Now I'm passing on the torch. Who's next? |

Oh lord... First new car I ever bought - 91 Daytona C/S Competition Package, one of 150 built, one of 26 with my options, 74k one-owner miles:
89 Shelby CSX-VNT, #135 of 500 produced, one of 15 with Recaro seats and Goodyear Gatorback options, 50k original miles:
87 Shelby CSX, #133 of 750 produced, was a 2.2 intercooled turbo (.48a/r turbo), currently 2.5 intercooled turbo with 70 trim Garrett turbo, 2.5" open exhaust, ported head, ported intake, +40% injectors, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, custom-calibrated computer, and updated Getrag A568 five speed manual transaxle:
1972 Plymouth Satellite Custom station wagon. I bought it from the original owner in 1992, with the factory 318, 904 automatic transmission, and 8.75" suregrip rear end. Eventually it got swapped over to a 360, 727 automatic, same rear, and I was running consistent low 13 second quarters with it. Currently it sits, waiting for me to get time and $ and parts to install a 5.7 EFI Hemi with autostick (I have the drivetrain, just need the stuff to adapt it to the '72). When I was racing it:
In the garage now, waiting patiently:
And, the heart of the transplant:
My workhorse - 2001 Ram 2500 Cummins 6 speed stick 4x4 longbed, 220k miles:
My $400 beater, 92 Cherokee 4.0 automatic with 250k miles, and the toy, 92 Wrangler 4.0 5 speed with 160k:
I also have a Cub Cadet riding mower with the Kawasaki twin and 60" deck...but no photos of it. |

2005 Mini Cooper S (the wife's car) with uprated supercharger pulley, lowered Dinan suspension, Dinan cold air intake, and Dinan exhaust. The thing makes a Porsche 914 feel slow, heavy, and awkward. Got it fairly cheaply with 90k miles and a blown clutch, but I'm sure it will end in tears regardless. And I don't care. 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero V6 with two stage turbo. Currently stock, when the budget recovers from the Mini clutch / flywheel repair I'll probably chip it. Got it with 47k miles for $9000. And a Toyota Sienna minivan, which is annoying in many ways, but runs like a clock. |

This from the files of the longest I have ever owned a vehicle. Now on fifteen years or so. You may have seen this on the "Susp....Jeep" thread.
One of my current and favorite projects, this one is around 300 hp with a 4+3 manual transmission. It is an '86 with only 54,000 miles on it, a fun ride.
Then there is my heavy duty truck.
One for current daily use.
Being in the automotive repair business it is always a 'tell' for me when I am driving unfinished vehicles. For me it is a sign of the economy being in the dumps for an extended time. I always end up selling the nice completed stuff.....just as I get it done, then I drive my next project as I build it. I hate it when that happens. |
