OK..so my hastily installed license plate and holder blew off today...I think it happened on my 120+ MPH blat between Mukwonago (Hwy 83) and the 2nd east-troy exit...you campers keep your eyes open on the ride on that stretch $20 and a case of your favorite beverage if you find it!
I hope you guys are are staying warm and dry in your tents.
I'm local and would be glad to lead a ride to RA on Saturday morning...up through the Northern Kettle Moraine, which would be a bit more scenic than the slab. If anyone is interested, let me know.
In the tent. Nice and dry. Rain sounds a little heavy outside. Turned on the heater and the fan to dry my shoes. Put a kettle on and made a cup of tea. Debating on watching a movie or sleeping. Got a cool breeze coming through the windows and may turn on the electric blanket.
And just when I was starting to feel sorry for you guys Modern camping at it's finest.
Well, this am is pretty muggy out, 61 degrees F with 61 degree F dewpoint! The air conditioning is on and we have showers (you provide the towel), soap, and shampoo for your use for any weary souls.
What time, approximately, are people expecting to stop by today? Last year, I stopped by early and left about noon and I think I missed seeing the majority of the group.
Well that was fun and interesting. Nice to have met all of you guys, Steve, thanks again for breakfast, you guys went way overboard, but it was worth the trip. See you guys at the track tomorrow.
You'll be glad to know that Pepsi is the 'official soft drink of Road America' and, YES, they have Mountain Dew! It's only $3.00 for a 20 oz. (or 24 oz., didn't really pay attention) bottle...
Geoff May had the quickest lap for a short period of time today. As I recall, after completion of Q1 today, May was 2.502 seconds behind the quickest Superbike rider. It will sure be great to see 4 EBR's on the track, for those of you who are going up to the track later this weekend!
Wish I could stick around for the festivities, but my packing is done and in the a.m. I'm jumping on a plane to Munich (via Philly).
Hopefully with my ~ 3 hour layover in Philly I'll be able to find a bar that can put on the race for me... 1313
Had a real good time, as usual. Brought home some really good Buell goodies. Everyone was very generous. Mr. and Mrs. Two_seasons were very hospitable and everyone that wasn't able to come really missed out.
There were a few asses there this year, but theirs always a few there every year.
We had fun. Ourdee and Loose1 are, as usual, the guys that put the glue to all this. Doris is a great hostess and I enjoyed the fellowship. Even got in a ride with JGonzo and Loose1.
We had fun with Dennis at Road America yesterday too. Dinner with Dennis after the race was good company and good conversation.
It must be hard doing AMA racing. Those guys in the tent and the pits work hard to deliver good product the the racers!
Doris got Geoff May's autograph before the race and we were over by the CAT bridge cheering on Geoff and Aaron.
I actually got to talk, at length, with THE MAN, Erik Buell. Doris set that up for me too. Erik is a gracious and fascinating man, and very humble in his accomplishments. One of the highlights of my life
It was a small group this year, as in previous years, filled with high quality Buellers. I couldn't ask for better weather. Had a storm or two roll through, but it wouldn't be home coming without a storm.
Couldn't ask for better weather. Matt chose to go for a ride in the rain. I got wetter doing dishes than from the rain. Went without the camera this time, and had more fun without it. HC felt like a family reunion.
You guys had an 1190 there and didnt roll other bikes next to it? Would have been great to see a "generations" picture of 4 bikes like up. X1, XBR, 1125R, and 1190RS
Same timeframe that the 1125 was released I think, October/November. Keep your eyes peeled prior to that though, something special may happen in a couple of months...
