Why am I reminded of the Heath Ledger line in the Dark Knight,
"What this town needs is an enema"
Lois Lerner needs to pursue another career

One of my concerns is that the house is being plugged up with this crap, Her silence seems to indicate guilt.

John Gotti and Barack Milhouse Obama have similar management styles.

Well, she did both: She testified, and THEN pleaded the Fifth.

Amazing.

Oldog, she claimed in no uncertain terms (and with a whole BUTTLOAD of attitude) that she has done nothing wrong.

And yet refuses to testify, on the grounds her testimony may be incriminating.

Against WHAT, I wonder, considering she claims she is innocent of any wrongdoing.

As I said last night: The current administration in the White House has crapped on the Constitution at every opportunity, and continues to do so.

And yet, ironically, she invokes the Constitution this morning to protect herself (or someone else?) from an unpleasant truth.

I hope our country survives 0bama's presidency. That sound you hear is a sucking chest wound. The NEXT sound you hear may be a death rattle...

I can kind of understand taking the 5th on these hearings. You do potentially open yourself up to a bogus charge of perjury if you have minor discrepancies in testimony under oath at various times. Just see what they did to Scooter Libby on a minor bit of testimony that was irreverent to the question at hand AFTER they had established that no crime had been committed. Of course that's the difference between a witch hunt and a real criminal investigation. This on is a real criminal investigation.

But she testified via an opening statement, THEN invoked the 5th. Trey Gowdy, a former prosecutor, correctly pointed out that you don't get to tell your side of the story then simply go home (she and her attorneys were dismissed from the hearing after she refused to answer any questions).

Yep, that was "testimony" that was approved by legal counsel. The more you say from there, the more likely you are to get tripped up on some insignificant detail that can be used against you in a witch hunt. Scooter Libby paid dearly for cooperating with investigators. Remember, "anything you say can be used against you in a court of law".

The Fox headline,

"Nothing Lerner-ed" is humorous

The fact that the IRS department under her management broke the law is not.

The facts are tangible, IF I am correct in stating that the department that carried it out was under her management ( and possibly white house direction ) she should be out.

she may not have "Broken" any laws but some one under her authority did she and they need to be removed. (Lois because she failed to stop the actions)

Face it this has been going on since 2010

Issa is on record this afternoon stating that Lerner did, indeed, revoke her right to not testify by testifying this morning, so he's recalling her. Excellent.

Nicely done, Congressman Gowdy:

The low level guys who are going to be sacrificed on the alter of deniability had, I am betting, zero contact with any politician. Those lower level criminals in the IRS might rat out their bosses, but they might not, since they, of all people, KNOW how evil those bosses are, and how much raw power will be brought to bear to destroy their lives.

Not one of the people who "gave the orders" to persecute and intimidate those considered enemies has been identified.

I bet that none of THEM is going to testify as to who gave them orders.

Why? Because THEY know that they will be destroyed if they do.

Intimidation, voter fraud, criminal contempt, manipulation, lies, perjury, all are the tools of evil men. That's HOW evil men win. Good men don't use those tactics. ( it's HOW you tell the difference! )

Ms. Lerner is demonstrably evil. As is the person who ordered her to do these criminal and tyrannical acts. ( I'm fairly certain she not only willingly did evil, but was joyful about it. Until now. )

It really does amaze me how often our leader have claimed to know nothing about what is going on in the areas that they are supposed to be responsible for. It's like ignorance is a virtue.

Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know what no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”

George Orwell, 1984

Kinda fits today you think?

It's just amazing how many people never read 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, etc. ( or saw the movies )

Does history repeat itself? Not exactly. But if you don't pay attention, it Rhymes.

I think Dennis Miller said it best. “German reunification: I view this in much the same way I view a possible Dean Martin - Jerry Lewis reconciliation: I never really enjoyed their work, and I'm not sure I need to see any of their new stuff”

The comment is off topic, perhaps, but the meaning is not.

'84 was required reading in HS...

Add Atlas Shrugged to that list, for fiction it is eerily close to several possible near futures under the "progressives"

The good news is that history has a habit of finding exceptional leaders who seemingly come out of no where during a crisis. Witness Rand Paul, Trey Gowdy, and Ted Cruz who are all pleasant surprises in this swamp of Republican mediocrity and Democrat malevolence.

The MSM may finally realize that there is an audience for people who don't blindly follow Wonderful and Hitlery. Doubtful though as they have already sold their souls. My soles go towards Fox News as they have the cajones to push against this 1984ish monster government.

First Conservative Groups File Suit Against IRS

The first groups that claim they were unfairly scrutinized by the Internal Revenue Service have filed suit against the agency in federal courts, seeking damages and the granting of their long-delayed tax-exempt status application.

True the Vote, a Houston-based voter watchdog group, filed a complaint in federal court in Washington, D.C., today over what it is calling “unlawful actions by the IRS in the processing of its application for exempt status.” The group was founded in June of 2010 and is affiliated with the King Street Patriots, a Tea Party group started in December of 2009.

The group says it has been waiting three years for its tax exempt status to either be granted or denied, first applying in July of 2010. During that time, the group’s president Catherine Engelbrecht told ABC News she has been personally audited and even visited by agents from the Bureau of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
