Funny thing Blake, My wife saw me looking at those mags and asked how much for them, I told her and she said "good, buy 20 of them!" I only ordered 10, I will let you know how they work...
Have I ever told you guys how much I love my wife?
cheer up - our local Wallyworld is OUT - I can't even get 30-06 there anymore, the only thing they have on the shelves is target load 12 gauge and 270 Winchester - NOTHING Else. old Mother Hubbard had more in her cupboard
So I got into work last night and look to see what we got in yesterday....516 Patrol, Bushmaster ACR...M&P15's.......and this, which we no longer have, but my safe does. :-)
The SRS isn't a Trijicon we carry at my store. I'll have to check if they're even in my system as available. If they are, yes. I can get 20% on them.
For the SCAR, I'll be adding a Leupold Mark 6 3-18 x 44. I get 50% on those. Hard part is finding the rings I want. I'd like a quick detach, but I don't think Burris offers a 34mm PEPR mount
Bushmaster/Remington ACR is the commercial/milspec version of the Magpul Masada. Magpul had some great ideas on improving the AR platform and the Army was thinking about buying a new gun.
Magpul didn't have the resources to go into production but Bushmaster did, and Remington.... Bushmaster handles the civilian, local and state LE sales and Remington gets the Federal/Military.
It's not identical to the original Masada design, but it's more producible and seems pretty well engineered. Cost is higher than an AR since it's a different weapon, and uses all new tooling, and Magpul furniture & goodies.
The bad news is it's not going to win the contract for a gajillion Service weapons, since they re-wrote the specs until only the Colt M4 meets them...... say some. Anywhoooo, since they didn't get a big military contract, it's still expensive as they amortize costs.
The ACR is on my short list for good rifles. A piston gun, excellent ergos, with pretty much everything I don't like about the AR platform "fixed".
We get 'em at work every now and then, and also ran into Aussies using them while serving. I find them awkward, poorly balanced, and the triggers are nothing to brag about. As a combat rifle it has its merits, but not enough for me to give up the AR platform.
I've had a 16" Mini-14 in a bullpup stock, and while the size was smaller than my 10.5" AR pistol, it really ruined all the qualities I liked about that particular rifle. It did make taking it out to the range on the Buell easy It was sure easier than taking my 45lb 50 BMG on my back.
Free floating the barrel will give you the best accuracy.
Buellinachinashop, Oops! My mistake. Read your post wrong.
Let me know how you like the FN SCAR in 7.62.
Hows the trigger pull on the FN bull pup? Accuracy? ( bull pups often suck for trigger pull, because they are adaptations of "normal" designs with a long linkage to ruin feel. )
