Absolutely had our backs, Britain is by far the best ally we have had for the last thirty years! Lady Thatcher was a strong and dignified leader. She has left a legacy few will ever match or exceed...anywhere! Thank God for Maggie! |

She was very gracious lady a good friend of one of my customers family. Met her on many occasions at their guest house. She will be badly missed by the world |

Mixed feelings here, she put the country back on it's feet & gave it some pride in itself. The cost however was very high in many ways & is still having repercussions now. She was a battler & left nobody indifferent though. |

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy." --Winston Churchill ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. -Benjamin Franklin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion and scorn toward those who disagree with us." --Soviet dictator Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A government big enough to supply you with everything you need is a government big enough to take away everything that you have.... The course of history shows that as the government grows, liberty decreases. – Thomas Jefferson |

What Jefferson actually stated:
If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretext of caring for them, we must be happy. Thomas Jefferson And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God? "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground." - Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, Paris, May 27, 1788 "And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure." (Message edited by ferris_von_bueller on April 14, 2013) |

Progress we started out with the most gifted and wise founders the world has ever known The founded a country that has brought more freedom and personal wealth to individuals than any other. To end up with colleges turning out mental midgets that are begging for slavery. Reference Rand Pauls discussion at a Progressive college last week. Progressivism is the enslavement of the mind. Their goal is enslavement of the world the weak minded liberal etc by mind control and the Conservative Right by force of arms since the programming does not work on that part of the population. |

Wonderful continues to show his true colors by snubbing the funeral of Margaret Thatcher. "...it is standard operating procedure for the Vice President or First Lady or, at a minimum the Secretary of State, to attend funerals of foreign leaders, even those from lesser nations. It goes without saying that when one of the longest serving leaders of America's closet and most enduring ally dies, the United States should send a large and distinguished delegation of America's leaders, past and present. Not this time. The White House offered a lame excuse -- all the senior Obama administration officials are way too busy to take 24 hours out of their hectic schedules to pay respects to the woman who helped win the Cold War, turn around the British economy, and shatter the glass ceiling of the English-speaking world." http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/04/17/obama-sh ameful-thatcher-snub/ Oops...this is from FoxNews so it must be avoided at all costs by close-minded Webheaders, even if they might learn something. |

It wasn't actually a full 'state' funeral, so protocol wouldn't actually include an invite to serving presidents and heads of state, including Barack Obama. There was an invite to foreign ambassadors and over 170 attended (including the US I believe). There was an invite sent to Nancy Regan and Mr Gorbochov as 'friends' of Maggie, but they didn't attend due to ill health. In other words, don't blame Obama for not attending...he wasn't actually invited. The funeral was very impressive to watch, and definitely something that us Brits do very well |

In other words, don't blame Obama for not attending...he wasn't actually invited. So if were invited, then it would be OK to blame BO? Alright then... http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/apr/16/mar garet-thatcher-funeral-us-representation

Nice try, Trojan. Your excuses for this POS ain't selling over here. Wonderful threw Thatcher under the bus like he did earlier with Winston Churchill. He has a really bad habit of doing this with a big smile on his face. Thatcher is one of the most important people of the 20th century whether you like her or not. And Wonderful ignored her. It is time for Wonderful to get off the stage. He is a disgrace and the laughing stock of America's enemies. |

Perhaps the next president will start his or her presidency with a worldwide apology tour as well. Maybe, if we ask nicely, the Brits will give us back our bust of Churchill when he/she apologizes for this latest boorish act. |

Hey, Reindog, you have to admit the Brits do pomp very well. Obama had far more important things to do. He'll tell you, repeatedly, "I'm not King". He's working harder on that than any "laser like focus on employment". Much harder. The Iron Lady was not universally admired. She was, however, feared by the right people. Those who hate her in death? As far as I can see, I'd be proud to be hated by them. You really know a person by those who despise them. You go girl. Say Hey to Ronald for us. |

Discussing this with an English friend yesterday & although we disagree on a number of points about her, we both agree that she saved the country, putting it back on track. We also agree that the country needs somebody strong like her again now, but sadly there's nobody looking the part at the moment. I see many parallels in the world at the moment, most notably in France & the US as that's where my attention naturally focuses I expect. It's time for some decent leadership, the Germans have their own Mrs T in Merkel, high time we got some clean & decent leaders too. |

Wonderful threw Thatcher under the bus like he did earlier with Winston Churchill. You miss the point. Obama wasn't invited to the funeral, now were any other serving world leaders. The only invites for what was a Non-state funeral went out to ambassadoreal staff and some ex leaders/politicians. If he had received an invitiation and declined (like Neil Kinnock did) then I might agree with you, but that isn't the case at all. Funny how Mrs T and President O both seem to be thought better of outside their own countries. Obama is much more popular over here and in Europe than Bush or any of the recent White House incumbents have been. Mrs T is almost sanctified overseas but still polarises opions here to this day. |

Euros and others like Obama because be is a marxist Progressive like many Euros and they prefer a week America and the nanny state. See Greece, Italy, Spain, etc. Americans appreciate Thatcher because she was anti- Progressive/Marxist like many Americans and we prefer liberty. |

An effective leader is usually criticized by the banal. Your own guy, Winston Churchill, was despised by many until the you-know-what hit the fan. The very stuff that he warned you about but the heads in the sand folk refused to heed. Obama tries to appeal to everyone which is a sign of a lack of leadership. If you haven't noticed, he pretty much always places himself in a position of plausible denial ability. He is a petty, weak man with a classic Narcissistic Complex. To repeat, his snubbing of both Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill is pathetic and unforgivable and you should know this, Trojan. But I suspect you already do but are afraid to admit it. |
