Seattle's Freemont District has a Lenin... next to the Taco Del Mar. Happy Birthday VI Lenin - Welcome to Amerika Just submitted the curriculum to teach Soviet Realism and Communist Thought for a local Digital University. If you do not know the enemy; you will fall for his lies easily.... apparently at least twice. |

Yep, it must mean something. It is also Betty Page's birthday, not one but two Popes died, and "In God We Trust" was added to our currency. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_22 |

A few Earth day predictions of 1970. “If present trends continue, the world will be… 11 degrees colder by the year 2000.” (Kenneth E.F. Watt, author of Principles of Environmental Science, Earth Day, 1970) “In ten years, all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish.” (Paul Ehrlich, author of The Population Bomb, Earth Day, 1970) “By 1985, air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching Earth by one half.” (Life magazine, January 1970) http://www.american.com/archive/2013/april/earth-d ay-and-40-years-of-environmentalist-panic |

Sifo The history of socialism and communism using environmentalism as a tool is well known. Green on the outside, red on the inside. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eco-socialism Does seem a trend, does it not? Animal welfare in Nazi Germany From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There was widespread support for animal welfare in Nazi Germany[1] and the Nazis took several measures to ensure protection of animals.[2] Many Nazi leaders, including Adolf Hitler and Hermann Göring, were supporters of animal protection. Several Nazis were environmentalists, and species protection and animal welfare were significant issues in the Nazi regime.[3] Heinrich Himmler made an effort to ban the hunting of animals.[4] Göring was an animal lover and conservationist.[5] The current animal welfare laws in Germany are modified versions of the laws introduced by the Nazis.[6] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_welfare_in_Naz i_Germany |

Yet, even as we mock the prophets that have made such dire predictions, the concept of stewardship of the planet is vital. If we had not addressed many of the issues that got such doom and gloom, ashen skies and flaming rivers would be common here, in the land of crazy technologists. Alas, they will remain Cassandras, mocked and scorned even as they try to warn us of the perils we face. Here's some more. http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&mpid=484 |

'Humane Society' is not about rescue - it is about administrative euthanasia, documentation, control and of course profit. take a look at the number they actually adopt out. pure soviet realism double speak and yes 'Planned Parenthood' is of the same ilk ; they are twin cousins. |

Shit like this makes me realize how close minded and the lack of education. More over the lack of ability to do your own research. Cause the real story of the supposed founder is even more disturbing that the coincidence of a birth date. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/42711922/ns/technology_a nd_science-science/t/earth-day-co-founder-killed-c omposted-girlfriend/ http://gizmodo.com/5995197/the-dark-history-behind -earth-days-murderous-girlfriend+composting-co+fou nder |

No, it is the sad fact that a coincidence bothers you more than the solid fact a murder co-founded earth day. It is your inability to do your own research or fact checking, looking for non sequitur links that just don't exist. Just perpetuating the fact that conservatives are close minded and only see the facts in their own truths. Really a birth date of a dictator and earth day are the same it is a conspiracy!!!! No the co founder is a murder that is the tragedy. Well that and you sad connections to conspiracy theories and lack of your own ability to think for yourself, that is pretty damn sad too. |

I really have no idea if it coincidence or not that Earth day is on Lenin's birthday. I do know, as fact that the connection between socialism and environmentalism goes back long before the first Earth day in 1970. To me it matters little which of the murderous thugs you wish to attribute it to. |

Earth day is a joke to me. One day out of 365 to pretend to care. Like being christian only on sunday. I do not subscribe to the Bull-to-the-masses model. Especially this Eco-Religious money grubbing business model. What i do approve of is common (uncommon) sense. Don't throw your old car batteries into the river type things. In reality the earth couldn't give a ratt's butt about us. It will keep on turning no matter we do to ourself's. It would be more accurate to call it "human day" because If we ending up nuking all humans the earth wont even schrug but were long gone. |

I remember the first Earth Day with its dire warnings of famine and Global Cooling. The motto then as it is now: "WE HAVE GOT TO DO SOMETHING!" Later, the histrionics became Global Warming when Global Cooling didn't stick. In Orwellian style, the Progressives have once again changed the language and the crisis is reborn as Climate Change. What is next? Changing "Gun Control" to "Ending Gun Violence"? Racerx, cute response. |

"Really a birth date of a dictator and earth day are the same it is a conspiracy!!!!" Um, no. It was deliberate. Intentional. On purpose. No conspiracy. The founders of Earth Day were fans. btw, just because one guy is a murdering sob doesn't make all environmentalists uncaring for human life. It has nothing to do with that, it's the ideology in the slight extreme that does that. There is a rational reason not to crap in your own well. As we learn more about the interactions of wind and water, what we SHOULD perceive as our own well is now larger than the suburban yard. Cleaning up the mess man leaves is well underway in the "West", thanks, in part to the screams of panic from the environuts. We actually owe them a small thank you for bringing our upcoming doom to our attention. ( btw, doom is still upcoming. We have, thankfully delayed it past the magical year 2000, which was a long way away and a handy prediction date in the 1970's. ) OTOH, the Movement of environmentalism is a created, nihilistic, religious movement designed with malice aforethought by the Soviets to de-industrialize their competition for world Domination. You only have to go a hair off sensible environmentalism to get a nihilistic philosophy that "we are the cause of all evil. The Earth would be better off without us." Most folk leaning that way are too selfishly sensible to actually WANT all the humans dead, but some tiny minority are not. I often say that if the Satan Bug is ever released, it will be Greenies that do it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059678/ It's more than a little disturbing, the popularity of "Life After People" fiction "documentary". Really a big gift item per Amazon. Hey! I thought it imaginative and well crafted. Still scary how popular it is. ( don't get me going on the remake of "The Day The Earth Stood Still". ) The trouble with the Green movement is 2 fold. First, as it originates with evil intent, it's motives are ever suspect. Second, the philosophy of "truth is what advances the cause", also The key aspect of the neo-marxist religion, means you just can't believe these folk. Seriously. To lie and win, is all. Read the "Climategate" E-mails. or, in short. ..."Love your planet...but those guys are crazy" "Just perpetuating the fact that conservatives are close minded and only see the facts in their own truths." Ok..... It's "perpetuating the notion" meaning a continued lie that reinforces a falsehood believed. You can't perpetuate a fact. Doesn't make sense. Conservatives, closed minded? I'd say, yes, a little. To a lot. Not too different than "liberals" that way. Obviously you think so, and are trying to "perpetuate the notion that Conservatives are closed minded" Well, duh. That's the mantra you've learned. You just said it Sideways, .... but that's the mantra you've been taught. It'd just be picking on you to mock "only see the facts in their own truths" unless you're so invested in the Dialectic as to believe that facts are what you perceive them to be, or argue that they are..... In which case I need a Btw, I celebrated Earth Day, by working, then starting up the tractor & doing a spring maint. cycle. Buttercup's next. ( The Cyclone. we had snow last week..... ) (Message edited by aesquire on April 24, 2013) |

The only thing I've ever done with malice aforethought was to publish an alleged English-Hungarian phrasebook with intent to cause a breach of the peace. |
