Legislation has passed under the radar before..

"We have to pass it to see whats in it"

chilling ....

An interesting point of view on the gun debate

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/03/19/gun-deba te-is-culture-debate/

As a rule I am not with the tinfoil hat set but I am seeing an ominous pattern
it has been written,"In order to bring about the fall of a nation you must wreck the currency, and you must disarm the populace"

maybe its just me ...

BTW Conrad GA has passed a Gun Ownership regulation with some commonsense wording, I wonder what the crime rate will be like in say a year .......

Kennesaw's fell ........}

GREAT ARTICLE!.. good find, Oldog.. ^^^

This paragraph(well known to many, already, I must add) depicts their ideology quite well..

"In a recent appearance on PBS's "NewsHour," Vice President Joe Biden admitted an assault weapons ban would do little to stop crime, but argued the weapons should still be banned if they don’t have “real utility either in terms of any sporting or self protection needs[.]”
Here, Biden forgets a founding American principle: we permit the government to have guns, not the other way around."

Now, is it just me, or did Biden just depict and display the tyrannical mindset?

The "buck" needs to stop with the defeat of S649.. what we don't need is another feather in the current POTUS's cap to maintain nanny-police state momentum..

I had never heard of this march either. I guess our history books tend not to cover how our government has wronged it's citizens. I wonder how it would have gone had they been armed and able to defend themselves. Yes, it would be a dangerous choice.

Our education system is designed to create loyal, obedient subjects ... nothing more, nothing less.

You ever wonder why logical, independent thought isn't a foundation of the educational principals of the government schools. No, it is all about memorization of useless facts.

They don't want you to be able to think for yourself. A society full of people that can't think for themselves but are dependent on Government is exactly what they want. And it is both sides of the isle, IMO. We are the dumb masses designed to produce their goods that allow them to maintain their power and their status. Welcome to the new world where we have the political elite and all the rest of us.

They were and chose not to,
the film recounts that the senate and house, members left by tunnels and back doors "to avoid confrontations"
They ( house and senate ) broke their promises and shirked their responsibilities, [ much like some in Washington do now ] Hoover IMO should be reviled by history for dishonorable conduct, the vets had been promised money and the government failed to keep its end of the agreement, nothing new there, BUT that is "OUR" fault WE sent them there}

http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2013-03-27.html

There's a century old saying, still true.

"God made man. Sam Colt made man equal."

The repeater pistol, with it's for the day high capacity firepower, made a man, a woman, a cripple, equal to a gang of robbers or murderers. The old single shot pistol was not much of a deterrent to a gang, or even a large drunken violent man. The Colt repeater was.

And.... in cases where deterrent is no good, ( as in many abuse cases ) a high capacity firearm often means the difference between life and death.

In ancient days, ( like last summer where a 15 year old was beaten to death on the street with boards, for walking in the wrong place ) the bigger man, the stronger man, the man who could command a gang, ruled. Still does in places where people with repeating firearms do not challenge them for the streets.

Like Detroit. Or Chicago. Where you are not allowed to defend yourself.

When you are a peasant, a subject, you just die.

Update from GOA..

Gun Owners of America
Reid to use his Gun Bill to Portray
Republicans as "Rape Supporters"
Honestly. Watching MSNBC is torment. It is like planting a listening device in Hitler's bunker.
After consultation with the White House, MSNBC has revealed what the Democrat's strategy is for passing "universal gun registration," gun bans, and magazine bans.
Ironically, one MSNBC commentator, Mike Barnicle, accidentally referred to universal background checks as "universal gun registration." What does that tell you about the Left's agenda for background checks?
Bottom line: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will bring gun control (S. 649) to the floor, and he will use his privileged recognition to force Republicans to cast votes that will paint them as wanting to arm rapists and violent felons.
You can click here http://gunowners.org/congress04032013.htm to read the transcript of the MSNBC strategy session or view the video by clicking here.
The message is clear for Republicans and pro-gun Democrats:
They need to stop the Gun Control Bribe-O-Thon by filibustering and defeating the Motion to Proceed to the Gun Control Vehicle, which will probably be S. 649.
If they allow the Senate to proceed to the gun control bill, Harry Reid, who has privileged recognition in the Senate will orchestrate a multi-day gun control bash-o-thon — with Obama, Biden, and every other anti-gunner in America coordinating a narrative that pro-gunners support rapists, murderers, and every other type of evil-doer.
The strategy is NOT to allow Reid to stage his bash-o-thon so the GOP can show what it's "for." Reid has control of the floor, and, as we saw with ObamaCare, he will use that control to mercilessly destroy supporters of the Second Amendment.
Plus, Reid will try to get a sufficient number of Senators by using bribes and kickbacks to buy the 60 anti-gun votes he needs (just like he did on ObamaCare).
ACTION: Click here to contact your Senators. Reinforce that the key vote on gun control is a vote to oppose the motion to proceed to the gun control bribe-o-thon, and to support the Paul-Cruz-Lee filibuster of the motion to proceed to the gun control bribe-o-thon.

http://gunowners.org/

Bribery? and kickbacks?.. just like he (Harry Reid) did on Obamacare? ..blatant corruption runs rampant! ..so disgusting

Watching MSNBC is a Waste of Time,

Reid should be up on charges for failing to do his job and pretending to be running the senate He is unfit.

Honestly why would any of what you observe surprise you?

Hitler and his minions "knew better" for the "people", "the children", "the master race", the press of that time were his mouth piece. just like the media is become the left's puppet now the parallels are disturbing.

Todays left is the same crap re-warmed,
Still a smoking stinking dung heap of dishonesty and hyprocracy

I just need to add some info about the latest Colorado nimwits.

That poor excuse for a lawmaker known as Diana DeGette was also heard to make fun of an older gentlemen who asked the obvious question as to how he can expect to protect himself from a criminal using a high capacity weapon if he himself isn't allowed to have one. Her response was, and I paraphrase, he should just call and wait on police. And then she was later caught saying, "but you would probably be dead before they got there", then snickering about it.

The poor cadets at the Denver Police Academy were being ordered to participate in the fraudulent display of support among law enforcement during President Obama's visit in Denver yesterday. The leaders of that police force also tried to force the rank and file to do the same, but their union stepped in to block that.(irony!) And while the president spoke with his coerced backdrop of law enforcement officers there was a demonstration by the Colorado Sheriffs who were quite miffed that the president did not invite them to his law enforcement show of force. Down low - there really isn't that much support among policemen for the package of gun-control laws the President and his henchmen in the Colorado legislature are working on. Only a few non elected chiefs and their kiss-ups support it.

Did the Denver Post, or any of the numerous local TV new stations cover the Sheriff's or the story about the dissent among rank and file policemen? Or the forced appearance of police cadets? No. And the story about how stupid Diana DeGette is on the topic of guns? Just a small little article that is easy to miss. I am sure none of the national news outlets, other than Fox News, carried one bit about her incompetence.

And one wonders why on so many social issues there has been a sudden swing in opinion among the public over the span of only a few years. Well, with fabricated "consent" and conspiracy to suppress the awful truth of how bad the sausage being made these days is, no wonder! We have a corrupt party majority in power in this country, who is aided and abetted by a corrupt media(I won't even call them news outlets), and is supported directly by probably 1 in 3 of your fellow neighbors and citizens. That latter group deserve as much of the blame as anyone does.

Time to fight back. Don't be afraid to lose friends(so called friends), or even risk losing ties with family members if they are found to be guilty in this collusion. Within the bounds of what is legal simply take some of their support away. Find out if they may be doing something illegal and turn them in. If something scandalous can be pinned on them go out of your way to bring it to light. If they can be embarrassed for their obvious ignorance, like Diana DeGette, make sure they are the laughing stock at any public setting you can find. If you normally invite them out on a motorcycle ride, blackball them. If they sit down next to you at a table, get up and leave. If they ask you why you are mean to them, just smile and don't say a word. That is just a start.

Remember that all the above co conspirators in the movement to establish a permanent leftist Democratic Party got their techniques from the likes of Bill Ayers. We've been docile and tolerant, despite the very contrary accusations they heap our way. Study their playbook, learn and escalate.

Another important update from GOA..

Gun Owners of America
No More "Mr. Nice Guy"
It’s time for Congressmen to get off the pot

GOA has been issuing multiple alerts recently because of the imminent danger that is facing us - as the Senate will soon be taking up gun control legislation.
Much of the focus has been on the Senate. But if anyone thinks that the House – and specifically Speaker John Boehner – is our fail-safe to killing gun control in the Congress, they had better think again.
Speaking on Meet the Press on March 10, Speaker Boehner said that he has "made clear if the Senate acts on gun control legislation, the House will consider it."
Quite simply, that means that House Speaker John Boehner will allow the House to consider votes on gun control legislation.
Not only that, in an article entitled "House GOP Leaders: We can pass gun control, immigration, without Republican support," Breitbart.com reported that on issues like guns, Speaker Boehner was open to "taking rogue Republicans across the aisle to work with Democrats." The House leadership quickly backtracked from this position once the Breitbart article was published.
Regardless, this just underscores how we can't forget about the House, and how we need to keep the pressure on congressmen – especially the Republicans.
Sadly, at a time when the House leadership announces that they support universal gun registry legislation – only to quickly backtrack – we get nothing but excuses, excuses, excuses about why many GOP congressmen have not signed onto the Stockman-Broun letter.
Representatives Steve Stockman (R-TX) and Paul Broun (R-GA) are doing a bang-up job in the House. They are two of the most active leaders working to defeat gun control in Congress.
And to that end, the Stockman-Broun letter uses precedent to call upon Speaker Boehner to reject all gun control legislation unless it has the support of 117 Republicans. This is called the "Hastert Rule." And, if Boehner follows it, virtually no gun control can come to the floor of the House. Virtually none.
So far, more than 25 pro-gun Representatives have signed onto the Stockman-Broun letter - and they should be thanked. But there should be lots more.
It's very frustrating, however, when we have asked pro-gun Congressmen to sign onto the Stockman-Broun letter to tell Speaker Boehner NOT to bring up gun control, but we hear all kinds of excuses as to why they can't.
Here are the types of excuses that GOA is getting as to why congressmen won't sign onto the letter, and our answers to their lame excuses:
EXCUSE #1: One office said it had signed other gun control letters.
ANSWER: There's no quota on your support for the Second Amendment.
EXCUSE #2: Another office said they were afraid of Boehner’s wrath.
ANSWER: You may want to consider your constituents’ wrath instead.
EXCUSE #3: A third office said that gun control was never coming to the House.
ANSWER: Are you going to do nothing until the anvil actually falls on your head? Boehner has publicly stated that Senate-passed gun control would be "considered" by the House.
EXCUSE #4: A fourth office said the congressman had promised to be bipartisan.
ANSWER: Obama's ruthless pursuit of his political goals, at the same time he mouthed words of "bipartisanship" is the reason why he controls the White House and you don't.
EXCUSE #5: A few offices have said they fear this letter is challenging Boehner's authority.
ANSWER: The Stockman-Broun letter does nothing of the sort. It simply asks the Speaker to follow a rule that was established by a former Republican Speaker of the House. No sanctions are stated or implied – it is only a request asking the Speaker to use the Hastert Rule to kill gun control.
Click here http://www.gunowners.org/congress04012013.htm to see the list of Republican congressmen who SHOULD BE on the Stockman-Broun letter, but are not.
ACTION: If your congressman has NOT cosigned the Stockman-Broun letter, then please contact him or her immediately. You may click here http://www.capwiz.com/gunowners/issues/alert/?aler tid=62568951 to send them a prewritten email. Demand that your Representative sign the letter invoking the Hastert Rule to kill gun control in the House.

John Boehner? a fail-safe? the guys a pushover.. time to be concerned, folks.. or rather, "very concerned".. this is NOT GOOD

This desire of the elite to rule is nothing new. We have just run out of places to run away from it. Unless we can go to space. Or unless we can do another American revolution. But technology has pretty much eliminated that possibility. The only reason the European wealthy elite lost here in the 1700's and 1800's was they couldn't wage a long distance war economically. Those days are gone. We had the rules in place to keep this from happening, but they are being knocked down. A large population no way to fight back and under the control of a few is really a great ride for those few. Welcome to the new world, donkeys...

There's been a lot of people new to the gun industry purchasing guns lately. People always ask about certain laws that seem very arbitrary trying to make sense of it. My simple answer is that it doesn't have to make sense or even have any effect, lawmakers will pass whatever they can pass.

Update from GOA..

Gun Owners of America
Your Activism Is Getting Noticed
by the Power Players on Capitol Hill!
GOA thanks its grassroots for making the difference
“Gun Owners of America, with its war chest, membership and lobbying strength dwarfed by the National Rifle Association, is emerging as an influential force as a series of gun control measures heads to the Senate floor.” - New York Times, April 4, 2013
The Senate was supposed to be taking up gun control next week. But now it looks like the outpouring of grassroots opposition from GOA activists has forced Harry Reid to push back his plans for at least a week.
Said the New York Times, “The group [GOA] has already been successful in both freezing senators, particularly Republicans, who have appeared to be on the fence about supporting bills to expand background checks and [has been] empowering those who have a strong gun rights background.”
The article cited GOA’s work in bolstering the resolve of several Senators, but especially that of Tom Coburn of Oklahoma who has been frequently wooed by anti-gun Senator Chuck Schumer.
Your backing of GOA is what’s making all of this possible!
Thanks for supporting GOA and standing with us ... for spreading the word ... and for continuously taking action.
To date, no compromise has been reached. And that means Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid just doesn’t have the votes yet.
Here’s why:
More Senators have committed to support the Paul-Cruz-Lee filibuster, including James Inhofe (R-OK) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). There are even more Senators who are joining this list, and we will share those names with you next week.
A plurality of Senators voted for a GOA-supported Lee amendment, two weeks ago, requiring a super-majority vote to pass gun control. While the amendment failed (as it needed support from 60% of the Senate), it nevertheless sent a “shot across the bow” of the gun controllers ship.
On March 23, a majority of Senators voted to bar the Obama Administration from signing onto an anti-UN treaty. This was an important development, seeing as that the United Nations General Assembly approved the Arms Trade Treaty earlier this week.
More Congressman are joining the fight in the House to put pressure on House Speaker John Boehner to support the Hastert Rule - a rule that would kill all gun control. The number of Congressmen supporting the Stockman-Broun letter is now up to 30.
GOA has still been lobbying the House, even while we’ve been asking you to mostly focus your efforts on the Senate. To that end, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked Rep. Peter King yesterday about the influence GOA is having in the House.
“The New York Times has a report on the Gun Owners of America,” Andrea Mitchell asked. “What are members saying about the impact of lobbying groups such as them [GOA]?”
King, who is, ironically, F-rated with GOA, said that, “Larry Pratt with the Gun Owners of America is effective. I don’t deal with them myself, but the fact is, they are effective.”
As we noted above, the New York Times quoted Senate aides on Tuesday as saying that “gun issues would probably slip to the week of April 15 - a setback considering that Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leaders, had pledged that it would be the first issue to come up when Congress returns from spring recess next week.”
We’ll let you know what’s happening next week. But for now, enjoy your weekend knowing that Reid doesn’t yet have the votes.
Thanks for supporting GOA and standing with us ... for spreading the word ... and for continuously taking action.
