Not the front muffler support, the CHIN-FAIRING support at the primary cover
If the front of the chin fairing isn't supported in a way similar to the stock muffler it will eventually cause the fairing to fail on the side mounts...
Of course it will take quite a few miles. A garage queen bike may never see it fail.
It would be nice to have the front fairing mounts on an aftermarket system. |

I use chin fairing brackets left and right side with 5 (Five) mounting holes for the fairing. All I was suggesting to Dean was looking at his web-page, he is using Jardine-style separate brackets. The left bracket has a mounting point that goes in front of the primary cover. This extra tab is not needed and makes the primary hard to remove. Just trying to help. |

Well if you'd clearly said that in your original post, then none of this crap would have been necessary or even been gone over. Sure, it's a design flaw, but it works for more than one company that makes them, jardine being one of them.
I now know that this bracket is what you're talking about.

Unless someone's updated my website for me, I don't have these listed for sale there yet. It's still being fitted/tweaked to my liking. I've cut both brackets and re-welded tabs to make it fit the way I wanted, and I realized earlier today that I'd managed to completely miss a mounting hole on the right side bracket. Guess I'll have to break out the drill and fix that oversight sometime next week. |
